i am delighted to hear the supporters have taken over the club and this may kickstart pompeys season after 17.00 hours. i wish to change my attendance prediction to 19009. come on you shrews. floreat salopia.
Do you have any idea how many you've brought down today? Am hearing that there are still queues at the ticket booths - bet the atmosphere will be rocking
2-1, and I told you McLeod and Thomas were performing! Why was your striker sent off, right after he scored ??
No idea why Morgan got sent off, but it seemed that we were the better team in the first half and were, as usual, unable to make it count before being outplayed in the second half and a team with better players (still pisses me off you've signed the likes of McLeod and Buszaky after creditors took a CVA of 1p to the pound!). I can't see you going down, even if you do have a ten point deduction, unless you're forced into signing inferior players soon, so I'll wish you all the best too as it's unlikely we'll be battling each other to stay up!
We've had some games like that - by rights you should have gone in at half-time 1 up, but it just wasn't your day. We hardly ever score into the Milton end (where your fans sit in the away end) don't know why, no matter who the manager is or who is in the team. Do you know why Buszaky is signed to us? He's on expenses only, we know that much, but we have no idea how much McLeod is on. Our whole budget for wages was slashed 1 week before the start of the season so not many of the team is Appleton's first choice. Buszaky signed for us just to get in the shop window after he turned down a new contract at QPR and no-one else queueing up to sign him - he isn't the only one who ended up in that position - you should read The Secret Footballer - he did a really good article on how things have changed on the money front for footballers, it was very interesting. You'll be fine - you'll stay up once your team get into their stride.
Just back. Great atmosphere and has been said before we largely controlled the first half. Another catastrophic mistake by Hector led to the first goal. Even though his general play is good he seems too prone to making these stupid mistakes and nearly gave the game away against Walsall as well.Jones is much more reliable. Impossible to tell what went on with the sending off but even with 10 men there was a lot of last ditch defending by Pompey and you were left wondering at times which team were a man down.Richards probably MOM even playing at left back.
well played pompey and good luck for the season, many thanks for the banter. apparently morgan having just scored, got a yellow, was incensed and put his head in the ref's face. utter stupidity, straight red, morgan cost town the game possibly and the ref will through the book at him. out for 3 weeks or longer. morgan is a disgrace to himself, the squad, manager and his club. just when the club needed a little stability we are faced with a moronic pleb making an idiot of himself. i hope gt fines him the amount of wages lost in 3 or more games
I know very little about the ins and outs of your wages, it's primarily guesswork, but the fact that we can't bring in the players is more what annoys me - you lot have no cash and have put together a very good team so why can't we sign a striker?
it annoys me too, and this is all down to Wycherley, being a tight fisted B......,no way will we stay up unless GT can pay better wages, our crowds are good and income is coming in!!, but he wont part with a friggin penny!!...its not not the first time Morgan has done this in his career, as i said when he first joined us, he now needs to go and lets get some quality up front....He cost us points today that we desperately need.....
In previous seasons I would have agreed with you about us over spending. This year however from the contracts that have been out in the open i think it literally comes down to the size of the club. If I was in a position where I could get the same money at a bigger club with more chance of progressing in the long run I would take it over a smaller club with a small Fan base an little history. You've only got to look at Hermans offer to come and play for free to see what it means to some of them. Half of our team I have no doubt planned to leave in January after using us as a shop window but I feel if the form keeps up and they are enjoying themselves then maybe they will stay.
