Teams need to go at City a bit more for any other team to challenge then.

easier said than done.

You need a guy who can hold it up and plenty of pace in behind.

Liverpool have that in firms and salah/mane. Most teams don't have one or the other to consistently do this and city are smart enough to stop the counter with niggly fouls

The deal isn't done. Fee agreed but Chelsea could match the fee as Courtois looks set for RM.

All about what the player wants now.

Massive news though.

I just think teams need to leave the fear factor behind and be a bit more agressive against City. Like you say though not easy to do but teams that do show them less respect seem to get results against them.

you mean press their midfield a bit more. Anyone who left their defence wide open attacking them got scythed apart from the City counter.

We pressed them hard and it worked, Burnley and Wigan sat deep but made sure there was an out and then were agressive in attacking them. I don't think many teams have the players to press them hard though.

Teams that just sit back get beaten by them, you have to carry a threat.

Wigan? Think it was different, they didn't really press them and got flukey with their goal (and city couldn't be arsed).

Burnley got a result and they did well playing the long ball to the big boys.

Agree teams have to carry a threat but i think teams don't purposely choose not to attack, they're just too knackered to start attacking city.

Liverpool would have had a great summer if they buy Alisson as they haven't really had a great keeper since Reina IMO. Definitely look the most likely side to challenge City but, can't really make any predictions until we see them in action next season.

I think the point luvvy is making is that you can't just all out park the bus against them as they'll wear you down eventually and find a way through.

Not every team has Salah, Mane and Firminho as a front 3 though.
