That was a really short period of time. I'm convinced Lewis would. Frazier would have been war. Foreman.......maybe.
It would have been nice to see had Ali, Foreman, Frazier & Tyson all been in their prime at the same time.
Right, at first I thought you were taking the piss, sorry. Jack Dempsey though, there's another I'd forgot about.
I don't know much about him at all tbh. I don't know an awful lot about that era at all. This business of getting into the ring in tip top shape just couldn't happen then. You'd fight crocked if you had to, so looking at their records through the eyes of todays standards isn't really fair. In fairness, promoters are starting to make fights that mean something now a lot earlier in fighters careers.
Mate in the 30's, 40's & 50's the Mafia told a lot of men what to do due to gambling. However, it's just as ****ing crooked today only in a different way.
Gentlemen, please wise up.Rocky Marciano's fighting weight 13.5 stone. As compared to Riddick Bowe's fighting weight 18.5 No contest IMO.
Bowe is another one with an amazing jab.....he shat it from Lennox though. In the modern era Marciano would not be fighting at HW.
Correcto Rebel.HW for RM would have been a no go area. But that said would Ali (my hero btw) have been able to fight in the modern era??????????????
Oh yeah, he'd have been fine today. There are only 2 tests in the division at the minute. Ali would find a way past them both.
Sorry Reb,but he would have been to light. There is no comparison between the modern era and Ali's era IMO.
Holyfield was robbed against Valuev before Haye beat him. Holyfield was 108 at the time. Haye didn't do too badly against the big Klit. If an old man can get that close, I don't see why ali couldn't. Young Eubank coming out to the loyalist anthem..... I hope he gets his **** kicked in He jumped the ropes like the old man good lad.
