That'll be the boy on the village playing fields I saw half an hour ago then...I'll go back and find out who he isWe need a keeper with better distribution, whoever it is.
I do have to wonder about the unhealthy fixation with Rob Green's distribution, correct me if I'm wrong but he's a goalkeeper, and goalkeepers are there to prevent goals being scored and not spray passes around like David Silva!
If Alex Smithies signs, he HAS to be number 1. Far better than Green; he's bigger, more mobile and can actually move.I know nothing about either goalies, and do not know their realtive worth....but 3 bids rising to 1.25mill for Bentley from Southend...all turned down, but later on a 2 million bid for Smithies accepted. Smithes has played for England u/21.
So was Bentley back up to Green, but now Smithies will be our no 1 after Greeno goes.....or am I reading to much into this
Our attacking options begin with the keeper in possession of the ball. If he can't see the options in front of him, or simply punts the ball upfield to the opposition centre backs time after time we'll achieve very little.I do have to wonder about the unhealthy fixation with Rob Green's distribution, correct me if I'm wrong but he's a goalkeeper, and goalkeepers are there to prevent goals being scored and not spray passes around like David Silva!

Agree, our deficiencies are not only in goalInstead we throw it out to one of our defenders who punts it up to their centre backs, personally can't see the difference.
Finally, a news article about us that I like.http://www.london24.com/sport/footb...b_green_heading_for_west_ham_return_1_4197449
Green to Wham; Smithies to us...still means we are one light
