I take heart from that article, he really seems to have his head screwed on, it goes without saying every player wants to play at as high a level as possible, it’s how he words it that I cling onto, he says;

For me, it's just about focusing on my football — then we'll see what happens after that.

"I don't want to put a specific time on when these things will play out.

Of course, I’d like to play at the highest level one day.”

Maybe I’m naive but that sounds like he may not be desperate to go quite yet.

Times have changed since then, they were at the time as well, one of the biggest names in football so could attract the best youngster’s available
