Point being that he was going to play at Arsenal. He didn't move because he wasn't getting games, he's moved because (he says) he wants to be used in the centre rather than on the wings.

 

I think he wanted to play anywhere but wing back. I imagine his problem was that Wenger has banged on about how he is a great player and the future of the club and he then ships him out as a wing back, lets face it no wing backs are ever the heartbeat of a team. He was promised a lot by Wenger but nothing ever changes.

 

Wenger has a horrible habit of playing players out of position, against your lot we had a LB at CB, and a RB at LB. So he has form for this.

That said, Ox is actually a very good wing back and not a very good centre mid. When Arsenal have played him in the middle he has been pretty ineffective. Ideally a player should do what his manager says for the good of the team, rather than throwing his toys out of the pram because he wants to play in a different position. Pretty poor this from the Ox, when he's not actually even that good in the middle.

 

I can assure you that he will have been told with us that train hard and you'll get a chance there will have been no certainty given about where he plays, I imagine it was discussed and that he was informed that he would in general compete with the wide men and Adam Lallana but he's not going to dictate where he plays with us.

So if he's used regularly by Klopp on the wing (as seems likely), do you think he'll be pushing for another move next summer?

 

I doubt it, if he is used on the wing then it will just show that he was chatting ****.

 

Fair enough. Perhaps you would prefer it if he'd just said "my career was going nowhere under Wenger, so I left the sinking ship while there was still time"?

He's actually a pretty good wing back. Hoping Klopp gives him his wish and plays him in the middle where he's crap.
