He's a better athlete than Lallana, with a better first touch, & carries more of a goal threat.

At least he was 5 years ago <ok>

I suspect he's left arsenal and rejected a move to chelsea based on the fact he wants to play. Doubt he cares where, the lad's a pro.

He started every game for Arsenal this season. He was in Wenger's plans. So that doesn't ring true.

He turned down more money with the Gooners so it's not his main driver. Lets face it though he's still getting a wedge.

I'm pretty sure we (Saints) couldn't have afforded him <laugh>

What I remember of him at Saints is a young man with truly exceptional talent. Alright, he stood out in League 1, but I genuinely expected more from him than any of the other youngsters who have left Saints in recent years (with the possible exception of Gareth Bale).

I live in North London and work just down the road from The Emirates, & I've been telling any Arsenal fan who would listen, what an outstanding talent they had on their hands there.

Really hope to see the lad shine in the future - though it sickens me to wonder what Saints could do with a squad containing Bale, Lallana, Walcott, Chamberlain and Ward Prowse.

    Every game this season?

So he's had to wait 6 years to get 3 starts in a row?

I hope Klopp trims him down to start with, he's too heavy and then lets him enjoy his footy. I'm certain he'll play as cover for Mane and Salah though, I don't see him as central.

There was a recent interview where Wenger stated he wanted to build the future around him. Too little too late from old man Wenger. Ther was also an interview with Klopp recently where he categorically stated he didn't want him.

Not sure about too heavy - he was always strong, the Ox suits him as a nickname for more than one reason. That's one of the reasons you can't get him off the ball, & imo he's at his best running with the ball at his feet, taking it into dangerous areas. Probably does need to improve his final ball a bit - unless it's a shot from the edge of the box.

Where does Lallana normally play under Klopp? And Coutinho? I would imagine he'd be cover for those guys, & young enough to improve past either of them.

Klopp likes to play with one midfielder holding with 2 ahead, his preference seems to be one controlling the game and one running between the lines so it's possible he will compete with Lallana there. I don't see him ever getting to Coutinho level, he's out of this world at the moment but I'm sure he can compete with Lallana. Wide he's not at either of their levels but is great cover.
I still think he's a bit too chunky and that he would still be as strong after losing a little muscle, Klopp recently told Gomez to trim down and he looks better for it.
