Remember we have Keita coming in, and apparently he will be cheaper than originally thought as his price is linked to his current club's position in the German league.
Regardless of Keita coming in we still need more number and to improve. Then Can leaving makes us need another too. Lallana having injury problems and now Chamberlain out for a while, we need 2 maybe 3 midfielders this summer. Including Keita that is
Last thing we needed, last thing he needed. We have to get some midfielders fit, its getting desperate
Worst thing is the injury came about because he was putting in 110% with a last min slide. Gutted for him.
Real shame about Ox. He'd really started to hit some form and although still inconsistent, he offered some driving threat from midfield that we sometimes lack against teams that sit back against us (like Stoke will). Would have been going into the WC in form of his career and a real chance at being a starter in the middle there. Hopefully can recover and get back asap in time for new season.
seems to me ox epitomizes the type klopp picks out. salah is the same. there no diva in them and no diva attitude has lasted at Anfield under klopp.
Paul Joyce on Ox in another piece in The Times - "It is understood that he did not suffer a cruciate ligament injury, which would have meant a lengthy rehabilitation. Liverpool hope that he will return for pre-season training at the start of July." #LFC
I said at the time it looked more like an impact injury. He proper whaked his upper shin against the Roma player.

The midfielder’s ferocious long-range drive against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Anfield scooped the prize, which he received at Melwood on Thursday. Following a fan vote, an expert panel determined that Oxlade-Chamberlain’s effort was worthy of the accolade ahead of Mohamed Salah’s stunning solo goal versus Tottenham Hotspur in February and the Egyptian’s classy opener against AS Roma last month. The No.21 could not attend the Players’ Awards ceremony at Anfield as he continues his recovery from a knee injury that ended his campaign prematurely. However, he recorded a special message after being presented with his trophy at the Reds’ training facility earlier in the day. “Sorry I couldn’t be there tonight. I’ve got a good excuse with my knee… I’m able to put my feet up and relax. I wish I could be there,” he said. “I just want to say a big thank-you to everyone who voted for me for Goal of the Season. “It was definitely one of the highlights of my career to be able to score in a quarter-final of the Champions League with quite a special goal. It was definitely one of the highlights of my season. “A big thank-you to everyone who voted me for that. “To be able to contribute to the Champions League run has been fantastic – hopefully the boys can finish it off and get me a medal! Thanks again.” https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fi...e-chamberlain-liverpool-fc-goal-of-the-season
