I'd rather not compare him to Messi.....but i understand your logic. As players go, he's quite close to Hazard. If OXO continues his development then he'll be up at that standard in a season or 2.

Having Henry in the dressing room must be helping OXO and Walcott. It's a shame that Gervinho and Miyaichi do not have the opportunity to learn from the master....

Look am not trying to big him up to much but he remind me of a very young Leo Messi.
Don't laugh am not saying he going to be like Messi or anything like that but Messi use to play on the right and he's left footed.

Ox play on the left and he's right footed both run at players got good control, see a pass link up well in the final third and score goals with very little back lift.

He's got exceptional technique, a good football brain, a great deal of pace, a good physique and a lot of confidence.

Yes he's only played 10 games and I am not saying he as good that would make me mad we hope he will be for Arsenal and England but he definitely got the potential to.

Six years ago we all saw Leo on the wing now he's in the false number ten role, Arsene has said he wants to play him in a more central role in the future do you think that's what he has plan for him?
Like I said POTENTIAL.
He is left footed.

Oxo and Theo are actually VERY different kinds of players.

The simularity is that they both have that explosive pace.(and both come from the Southampton youth academy)

However I see Theo as more of a striker, while Oxo or more like a Iniesta/Mata type creative forward.

It's nice to see that you guys rate him so highly.
Hopefully we will keep the next Bale's,Walcott's and Oxo's in the future.

You know what, i have a lot of sympathy for you guys. You do everything the right way, have a great youth academy but don't have the opportunity to use any of the players. One day we will see Southampton flourish in the Premier league with all the new Bale's, Walcott's and OXO's in their squad....

Thanks Lazarus.Hopefully we will keep most of our academy stars in the future, that is the plan set out by our chairman.
<cheers>

Oxo is massively over rated. People are talking him up saying he should go to.the Euro's, he's a great player etc.
He has made a great start but he had only played a handful of games...people need to let him learn his trade rather than build him up so he can be slaughtered in a yr or so time.
Andy Carroll was outstanding from Aug -Dec 2010...but has been sussed out and 35m looks lile a bad joke (maybe he'll come good but he'll never look worth 35m).
Oxo needs to play well for at least a year being he's being biggef up after 3 prem matches.
He's a good exciting young prospect who aint played no where near enough gamed to be cobsidered great.
This aint a dig ... would love him to be at spurs.
