All the different religions and no matter what, they all can't be right. We live on a tiny planet at the edge of a tiny spiral galaxy, on the edge of a huge cluster of galaxies amongst BILLIONS of other clusters of galaxies. I want one religious person to tell me why God created so much and gave us so little. After all it was one hell of a lot of effort to go to, to give us pretty sparkly nights. I got a shock a while back, when David Attenborough said he believed there could be a God, but still remains mainly agnostic. This truly surprised me. I agree mate, just thought your point was well enough put without it having to risk confrontation by bringing it to a personal level. I agree with everything you said, just wanted to distance myself from that particular part of your comment but still support the rest. Trying to keep out of trouble at the moment.
It's not easy to just put religion in a box, I know a lot of people who would be worse off in several senses of the word if they didn't have 'faith'. Ultimately, I'd prefer that it wasn't entertained, I don't think it can overcome it's own cancers that have managed to manifest their way into most religions. I think this country forces people to bite their tongue and keep shtum way too much though and for that reason, I've rebelled and never shied away from condemning religion. The Muslim faith has managed to breed a significant threat to global security, so for me I can't ever say they are a 'Peaceful Religion' despite this being what every Muslim seems to instinctively sick up every time their faith is challenged, it is not a peaceful faith, it is a faith which has allowed itself to breed evil amongst it's own ranks, by entertaining a ridiculous set of archaic 'guidelines'. No other faith on the planet is breeding terrorists at the same rate, not even close to the Muslm population. If you're a Muslim, this is your time to be in the spotlight, do not jump to protect your faith when it is scrutinised if you're not also prepared to condemn the acts of your fellow Muslims when they commit such inhumane crimes. This is the biggest problem for me, the 'somebody else will sort it out' attitude that they have. This mess has been created by them and they need to tidy it up if they want to stop so many western bullets ending up in so many middle-eastern people's heads.

Well this is one of the most ignorant threads I have ever read in my life. What an absolute bunch of cretins. You talk about Islam without knowing anything about it, you tarnish all Muslims with the same brush despite their being millions of Muslims all over the world 99.99999999999999999% have no interest in extreemism. I am so pleased that I do not view the world the same way as a lot of you on the thread or I would be angry about everything. They say ignorance is bliss but you guys have taken it to another level. You have all been brainwashed as much as the terrorists, to believe all Muslims are the same, it is very sad. Thankfully the Sunderland board does not show an accurate reflection of society and I feel thankful that you are in the minority. Would I prefer to live amongst peace loving Muslims than the angry ****s on here, 100%. Pick up a book, read the internet, research and open your mind, it may help you understand the world a little better and not be so angry against millions of people who have done absolutly nothing wrong. Islam is derived from the word peace, and all of the muslims I have encountered are peace loving and would never think to oppress their religion on others. Please remember Islam is based on the Bible, they believe in Jesus and Moses and all of the other stuff that you may not find so alien. Please do not be scared or angry at something that you do not understand. It makes no sense and all of this talk of hatred towards people because they happen to follow a different version of a religion than has been celebrated in this country for the past 2000 years, please please please, read and talk to people, it helps.

Sad that you have excluded 2/3 of the world for holiday/travel destinations because of the colour of people's skin. More fool you to be honest. Try to be less ignorant and see beyond people's skin colour. Why should all Muslim's condemn and take responsibility for the acts of others around the world just because they claim to follow the same religion. If I were Christian should I condemn all religious extreemism by Christians? How many innocent people have been bombed? I would hate to state a percentage for fear of retribution. There are millions upon millions of Muslims in the world and the percentage of those who have bombed innocent people are...... The word Jihad is often misunderstood, in Islam it is stated that the greatest Jihad is against yourself, the struggle against finding God. There is lots of stuff in the Bible and the Qu'ran that I do not believe for a second, however just because people do, does not mean I will condemn them.
Why should all Muslims take responisbility for the others around the world because they share the same religion? Should I condemn all attrocities of people that share my eye colour, hair colour? People are born into a religion, it is their life, it does not make them responisible for the acts of others who happen to follow a version of their religion. To view Muslim's as a "group" is incorrect. They do not have a sole voice, it is millions of individuals and all that I have spoken to condemn the attrocities. The honest opinions on here, whether you agree with them or not, represent what a section of people feel about the Muslim religion, which has manifested from a section of Muslims who have no regards for human life on any level.
