Absolutely nothing wrong with UC, Drew. The staff don't like it because it will chase a lot of the workshy shysters out of a job. Only problem is the 4-5 week wait which is negated by being able to get an advance (£250 single person, £1000 for a family or thereabouts) waiting that long then works like a lying week back in the day and you still have money coming in for your first month of work. Imagine there was no UC and the brews were rammed with ****s just now.
UC hasn't stopped that. It just means that all your benefits fall under one application. The 5 week thing is their choice, they just know that most ****s won't apply for it as they'll have a job by then. It's the ****iest thing the Tories have done since the bedroom tax. Tories gonna Tory.
Genuinely disagree by a mile and I've used both systems. The old one was a joke, you had to do a balancing act so you didn't work 5 mins too long or they took the lot off you, Child tax credits etc. Down standing in a queue like a tramp to sign your name every 2 weeks and write the name of 4 jobs you had applied for (they never checked, totally pointless money and time wasting exercise). Now it's a sliding scale (for want of a better term) and if you want to plough on and earn more money you can. More money = better. HMRC are tied into the system so it automatically updates your hours working etc I've been on and off the brew for 8 years as a single parent (depending on earnings) and haven't met another working parent yet who prefers the old system. Not one.
Wrong Ciaran, it was enforced on the DWP employees by the Tory ****wits that didn't have to deal with it. ****s should be ****ing enforced to see how it doesn't work on the ground floor that have to deal with it.
It doesn't have to work on the ground floor because you don't have to go near the brew, you do it online, computers are making their job obsolete of course they're not happy sure they were getting 30k plus to sit and watch 50 guys sign on everyday, who wouldn't be upset to lose that wee number? Some of the older staff in the brew not happy I'm hearing right enough, having to learn a whole new system the poor dears
So what happens if you haven't got access to a computer or the savvy to do the online stuff? What do those folks do, starve? They have also introduced draconian sanctions on people. Five minutes late for an interview your money stops, miss a phone call your moneys stopped. Cant afford bus fare to the brew because the Tories have closed that many the nearest one to you is miles away, money's stopped. 2 to 3 months waiting for a decision on disabled living allowance after being assessed by a cùnt whose company gets paid bonuses for finding people ineligible! Aye the Tories have done a fine job with welfare.
They've always had those sanctions but they're rarely used, like these ones. You can send a message direct to the person dealing with you if you can't make it, Boris isn't standing pressing a big red button Aldo, it's the same staff working the old system and they have the same leeways etc.
But do they though. It seems since UC was introduced there has been nothing but horror stories from claimants and staff. In fact you're the only cùnt I've ever seen actually bigging it up. Are you sure you're a fenian? You'll have to flit to the other side of the peace wall any more of this mate.
You will hear horror stories because it's bad news and the Tories implemented it, you'll know a working parent that'll be or has been on it, ask them and pound to a penny they prefer it.
