You caught that too huh? <laugh>

I still want BOTH to come good and Suso. Would give us so much depth, but sadly won't happen.

If 2 of the 3 come good I'd be fairly happy.

I think Suso is there to be honest, just need to keep him ( although, if Sevilla are interested, could use him to get Rakitic??). Then it is up to Joao or LA to fight it out.

From what I've seen of him this season we'd be nuts to let him go he seems to have a bit of everything.

With Suso? Ya, I would want him to stay, but I think he may have the bug of being back in the homeland, sunny weather, etc. IF Suso is hell bent on going to Sevilla for example, that could knock 10 mil off Rakitic who I think could help take our attack ( as good as it is) another level due to his versatility and ability to pitch in goals a la Oscar, Lampard of old, Gerrard of old, Nedved, etc.

To be honest Rakitic is 26 and likely close to his peak, while Suso is 20 and nowhere near his peak. I wouldn't ever make that trade unless Rodgers is ABSOLUTELY certain that Suso doesn't have a future here. From what I've seen this season he most definitely should have a future at a top club.

In my opinion Coutinho gets the 10 role and that's that. As backup we currently use Allen/Sterling - next season Suso should replace Allen in the pecking order and Tex should be sent on loan. It doesn't help that we have so many prospective number 10's at the moment + Sterling vying for a spot next to SAS.

Coutinho, Suso, Tex, Sterling, Allen, Alberto all competing for two spots. We will need a younger Gerrard but do any of these players fit that role? I don't think so. It will be interesting to see how they are juggled and rotated.

So you don't rate the Croatian. :bandit:

Only would let Suso go if he was just adament about leaving but even then would try to persuade him, I rate him highly but just thinking out loud if Rakitic would want to come to us, how we can knock som euros off.

Alberto is interesting for sure though, has time to grow and in his barca b days had a keen eye for goal and the assist, let's see if he can begin translating that a bit to the first team.

I'm in no position not to rate Croatians ! They're much better than we are as a team. Srna and Modric I like as well as Mandzukic. But Rakitic isn't LFC quality IMO or at least isn't yet. He's a good player just not worth Suso. I'd rather pay his price and get him outright without offering Suso at all.

I see what you mean though, if Sevilla are interested and all that. Player trades almost never happen though.

I am certain we will need to replace Suarez next season and I honestly have not got a clue who could do that, think we will need team to work together to cover for his loss
