Now Offical via Sky Bristol City winger Albert Adomah has handed in a transfer request. The 25-year-old, who represented Ghana at this year's Africa Cup of Nations, was the subject of two bids from an unnamed club - believed to be Wigan - last week. City revealed that they had turned down both offers but now Adomah seems determined to force through his exit from the club. Adomah, who moved to Ashton Gate from Barnet in 2010, made 41 appearances for City last season, scoring seven goals, as the Robins were relegated to League One. His current deal runs out next summer.
Well that's another 5% we don't have to give away out of his transfer fee silly boy he would have been sold anyway but he still will not be sold for peanuts.
Apparently Adomah only has a year left on his deal, which basically means we're selling sooner rather then later, and that Wigan basically have us by the curlies. Since the transfer request is official, I'd opt for a swap deal. We aren't getting much from Wigan, despite the cash they have, so a bit of cash and perhaps a player that could tear it up in League 1.
Still no guarenty it will be Wigan just because a player makes a transfer request does not mean the club has to accept the only offer a club makes if Wigan stick to their current offer I can see City waiting to see what other offers if any come in and Albert will be sat on his Arse waiting and hoping his agent has done him no favours with this.
We can still block any move but it may not be wise to do so as we may end up with no money. I assume that most of us on here probably thought Albert would leave before the new season anyway and I reckon SOD had also factored that into his team plans. Shame to see him go but good luck to him. Would he have had the appetite for L1 anyway ?
The club seem to have plans now, so I assume they have a figure in mind. As they turned down 850k plus add-ons, I assume they are looking for £1m+
I suppose it depends on what Mr Lansdown thinks about it all if he says get rid asap then he will go to the first offer but if he says wait for a reasonable offer Albert will be here til that arrives had his agent not started this off I think AA would have had a lot more sympathy from the board I doubt if there is much there today.
I think the fact Wagstaff was recruited was to offset Albert leaving at some point. Anything over £1M with a sell on clause would be OK. On his day unplayable but it does not happen enough, much like people are saying about JET...
Thats true enough the one difference though is that sometimes when Albert was unplayable it didn't help the team as the final ball was often lacking at Least with Jay his final ball was often hammered goalwards or putting a goal on a plate for a teammate which should mean that even if JET is only as unplayable as often as Albert we should see more benefit for the club for those moments however having seen Jay play a number of times in a number of positions IMHO if you play him behind the striker and keep feeding the ball to him he is always capable of making chances.
The number of times Albert had a game affecting performance last season was a lot less than the season before
If he wants out then bye bye,how effective was he last year. Get the most we can can for him, bring in people that want to be here, and committed to the cause,no shirkers wanted here next season. Only players 100% committed to play next season.
I agree 100% - don't forget as well that SoD was making noises about Adomah not suiting how he wanted to play (all be it last year)
Ali durden tweeted that albert handed his request in this morning thats as good as official as he has been spot on All summer
