Shearer : Geordie legend, England star, Poor/Boring pundit.

Allen is going to look as good or bad as the players around him, similar to players like Xabi and Mascherano. In a bad team he'll just pass the ball sideways for someone else to lose the ball, he doesn't provide alot going forward and isn't the best defensively. In a good team he will constantly recycle possession and help slowly build attacks and pressure, giving space and time to more offensive players around him whilst tiring and frustrating the opposition.

    I like him alot.

It's ****, boring, brainless ball-retention fanaticism like that which has helped ruin the excitement of the English game.

i think all the lfc fans knocking our own player should seriously ask themselves one thing.... what would this clown say about scott parker? great england player... or square ball merchant.

the fact is our tactics are completely arseaboutface right now and rodgers is being found out big time. we are 20 yars too deep and playing 20 yar stragith passes that arrive to forward players with a defende rup their backs side. theres too much of a gap between attack and defense and our centre halves are trying to be midfielders, our full backs are way up the pitch beofre they should be and we are completely wide open.... al lit takes is one error form anyone and we are cut open.

one of these days we are going to get a beating... a bad one.

Allen did only four fewer passes forward than Gerrard.

What a useless stat! If that forward pass is not incisive then it is no different to one that is played either sideways or backwards.
