In hindsight I think the second season chasers got their tactics so wrong it was laughable. Speed horses like Grands Crus and Cue Card were kept in BEHIND Long Run- the one proven stayer. Absolutely ridiculous tactics. I think Dynaste would probably have won the King George to be honest! We know what Long Run is now, we know what his level is, and we know how to beat him. I think the Irish challengers will be looking over today and fancying the Gold Cup, and I doubt we will be without any Irish challengers for next years King George. Again though, those who backed him- enjoy your winnings.
