I would presume so. If the player doesn't agree with the contract from Club A then presumably he doesn't need to sign it. If there was an obligation club A could just offer them 1 quid a year
So basically all a buy back clause gets a club is first refusal at a set price, only any use if the player wants to return and there are no better offers?
That's pretty much it. We get to offer a fixed price for the player and they have to accept, and its down to the player whether he wants to move back or not.
This is my understanding. I guess all contracts are different but Juve had to take a relatively low offer for Morata who decided to return to Madrid.
