I think that’s about the same distance my missus dragged me up a hill on our state-sanctioned exercise this morning.
I've covered about 80 miles in the last 10 days. Stopped smoking after 23 years about 6 weeks ago as well. Not had a beer either. I've become a right boring bastard.
The conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day with this, especially with Musk involved. Elon-gate is going to be really drawn out.
I did have a nosey last night, certainly never saw a 'train',There were a few lights, but travelling different directions. No idea if they were meteorites or satellites or even planes?
It wasn’t as good as the night before night before was all in a straight line and same gap between them some great shooting stars last night though
I am no plane spotter (or whatever you call a heli-spotter) but a quick google suggests that they might be Ospreys?
I don’t think they’re quiet at all, made a right racket last time they went over the house. But I think having the swivelling engines means the sound is very directional - so it’s loud if they’re pointing at you when in helicopter mode, and quieter when they’re in plane mode. thats my theory anyway.
The font of all knowledge that is Not606hullcity announced this on post 27 of this very thread. Always ahead of the times.
I know I saw them over my house. Ospreys from the USAF on exercise using disused airfields. Probably using Leconfield.
I wondered if they were USAF, but I wasn’t sure from the photo whether what I thought was the star logo recognisable from all the Airfix kits of our youth actually was.
