Would be a stupid move. If we're going to replace Ollie, replace him with someone with a great and long track record. Ainsworth may come in and be the same or worse. There's no sign that he would be better. And there's also cause to believe Ollie may get better. Possibly.
Doesn't look like Ollie is planning on going anywhere...... Exactly. Which is why I'd keep him while we're making progress (even if it's not the most revolutionary progress) and have some stability, and if a great manager comes along then go for it. As you say, there aren't many of those around. If we go for Ainsworth it could be worse!
It’s not up to him though, is it? All that means is that a departure, if it happens, will be acrimonious, a sacking.
It's all speculation which will be enough to keep our interest up over the summer. The owners have shown a remarkable lack of judgment time and again and I would not be surprised if there is another knee jerk reaction as if changing the manager each year will somehow get us promoted instantaneously while ignoring the financial constraints in place to prevent any more idiocy. We've debated the merits of FFP on here a number of times. We are a classic example for the case that something like it is necessary. Tony now realises that his best bet of recouping some of his losses is to concentrate on the building projects because he has screwed any chance we had of going up again any time soon so I don't see him walking away however many times he feels has to repeat the mistake
