So many threads going on with the same theme!! Yes the game has moved on Prem, but 7 years is not that far away compared to 30 odd years from a different discussion!! I can see IMO that Hoddle would love another role in English football before he gets too old and way out of touch with the game here.. I don't believe it's all about big money signings but what the real managers/coach role should be.... Typical England managers job....with the players that’s available and getting the best from them. Tactics, formations, when to play wing backs and when to play just one up front..How to defend properly, how to bring confidence into the squad and to be consistent. Skills, Millen & Del failed on miserably. Our next manager (If any good) will work with what we have and bring in players to fill in the holes (however big). You say players know how to play football, which is true but most are not intelligent enough to know what works best when and where within the team ......some wouldn’t even know their best position, sometimes that needs to be pointed out or tried.........A good manager/coach will experiment and try things, educate players to change if things arn’t going according to plan.. A Hoddle or a Hoddle type would be spot on!!
"I can see IMO that Hoddle would love another role in English football before he gets too old and way out of touch with the game here" Just idle speculation onefor, If that was the case why hasn't he applied for the plethora of higher profile jobs that have been available recently (Wolves and Blackburn being just 2)
Plus he was touted for the Forest job in the summer, with money to burn. So the chances that he comes here are slim.
