The joys of being a poor 1st division side a released millwall player. Oh the joys. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...nt-sign-former-millwall-forward-aiden-obrien/ suppose if he does sign we have to give him a chance, you never know could be a Phillips or a vardy
Just done a bit scouting (YouTube) on him, and he looks decent. At 26 is a good age, and normally plays on the left of a front 3. 6ft tall so will add height to the team.
Quick read on Twitter of the Millwall fans opinions and looks like he’d be a good signing. Know nowt about him, but reading a clubs owns fans opinions is always a good place, a lot surprised he’s been let go, and a lot more sad to see it.
6 foot is fine as long as they're sturdy. Wyke hits the ground when he mistakes a light breeze for a hand on his back and he's far from the only one we've got/have had. At least Gooch is strong he uses his low centre of gravity well. Dunno about O'Brien but he doesn't look like a pushover from that.
Scores with both feet, anticipates the ball in the box and goes for it. Not sure how he scores headers given he looks the wrong way for most of those, but looks alreet for the league we're in
He looks the right kind of forward for this league. Gone, for now, are the days about us speculating about who we may or may not gone for but we need players who are going to be solid, and do a job. He looks way better than what we have. Few games for Ireland as well so must have a bit about him.
You obviously know nothing about him. Hes a quality player for this level who will massively improve us. He never really got the chance he deserved at Millwall and when he did he was played out of position out wide. His only flaw is he can be abit lazy at times, but all in all he would be a good signing for us.
Im mates with a Millwall season ticket holder, and i join him a few times a season to a Millwall game. Obrien has always been rated by the fans. Millwall are a team that pushed for the playoffs in the Championship, so im not sure why some of our fickle fans are moaning that we are signing a player like him on a free. We are an average league 1 team ffs.
Know nowt about him but the Ronnie Gill described him as 6 foot and athletic and can play out wide or up top. Sounds a canny replacement for Dunc imo. Have to admit to getting a bit excited for the new season now mind.
Sounds OK to me Tees. I would take the fans consensus over Video evidence any day, they see the 90 minutes warts and all . PS Just heard the Newcastle deal is off
