unsure...

the lad is young, has had a long lay-off, is only just starting to get a little game time, watched his game and he certainly looks eager and always looking to get involved.

realistically he is going to have to go some to get serious minutes this season, obviously i hope he can but purely down to injury and needing to work back to full fitness i doubt we will see the best of him.

We signed the €3m striker from Gent in the summer after a prolific season for Gent B, here we are at the ripe old age of 19 and he is on the road to full fitness. After completing 64 minutes against Benfica U21s last night, he could be in line for a spot on the bench in the coming weeks, perhaps even against Plymouth this weekend!

Do you think he will have an impact on the first team this season?
I say no but I’m alright with that, let him settle and emerge next season

Depends on definition of impact. If he makes the bench and is pushing the starters he’s had a positive impact. Good chance that happens but doubt he’ll get too many minutes unless injuries are awful.

ABDULLAHI LOOKS SHARP

“He looks a lot sharper and a lot fitter. He looks more like I think he would like to look. He said he was going to get a hat trick. He said he was going to be the real spearhead point of what we’re doing. I think it’s really good for our young players to see that when you’re playing as a nine, you’re going to be judged on scoring goals and looking sharp. I think he’s looking sharper, so credit to him and hopefully that gives him the positive reinforcement. Sometimes when you’re on that rehab trail you can’t really see that light at the end of the tunnel but to feel sharp, to feel strong, to get that reward of goals as a forward player is a really good boost of confidence. He looked much more complete that he has done previously.”
