    @lardiman

Just think things through before imposing your version of Sharia law on 606 :emoticon-0148-yes:

The reason we could / did not discuss the Southport murders before yesterday was due to sub judice. The same principle even applied to Parliament. Nothing should be posted to prejudice a fair trial, although it is stretching credulity to think that the jurors at Manchester Crown Court read Charlton 606.

That ended yesterday when the terrorist please GUILTY to his heinous crimes.
Ergo…his crimes are bad news, and thus appeared on the bad news thread.

Your NATO- standard sensitivity-radar has once again put 2 and 2 together, and made 348.

It has nothing to do with politics - it’s a discussion of topical bad news.

What you are really saying is you have set yourself up as the arbiter of good taste, and what you deem to be good and bad news on 606. That’s fine, although to my knowledge nobody asked you to ??

Thanks to those who have messaged me but I don’t want to post on a forum under these conditions. Didn’t we often criticise ITTV for deleting posts <confused>

There’s no need to threaten to resign or to get defensive Lardi, you are best left to it.

Good luck with your unique personal attempt to grow Charlton 606.:emoticon-0148-yes:

    I have said this before and here it is again;

If members here wish to drop the 'no off-topic politics' rule then all we have to do is have a poll.
Anyone can start a thread with a poll. I'll start one today.

If the majority of members vote to drop the rule then it's gone.
Any subject will be open for unrestricted debate here.

Last time we had that freedom the community was almost wiped out when a debate on the Southport riots turned toxic and three members almost left in the space of a few hours. That was why the rule was put in place.

But if the majority of members wish to return to unrestricted free speech on any subject - then that's what we will do.

I was only ever trying to preserve the community here.
My actions were never personal in nature.

A poll has now been created to judge the 'no off-topic politics' rule.
If a majority of members want it dropped then it is gone.

I hope you will re-consider leaving Not606 Charlton.
I don't want anybody to leave.

    I am not taking sides.
I have met the guvnor once and he is very pleasant, we have messaged each other often on wattsapp, wishing each other a happy christmas etc and commented about the groundhopping photos he puts on.
Kojak can be controversial but I find he speaks his mind and is fair in what he posts. We have met many times over the years and he's alright, he's misunderstood.
Life is a bit like me, too short.

I really don’t think it gets out of hand on here whatever we discuss, we’re a friendly bunch and get on ? We all have our own views and respect others - it’s a shame the rest of the country doesn’t follow suit <cheers>

So good to see the Southport child killer get life but I feel with a case like this he should get the death penalty, I’d gladly pull the trigger <cheers>

It's a pity to have to pollute what was supposed to be a happy thread with having to think about this monster.
Having said that, any thread on this forum is polluted if he is discussed on it.

I agree it's time to return to the Death penalty for crimes as horrific as this.
I also think it is time that all Police officers were armed.
The first officer who set eyes on that creature should have been able to shoot to kill.

Every individual confronted while attacking people with a lethal weapon should be put down on the spot.
There have been too many rampages by maniacs with weapons, who have killed and maimed innocent people.

    Anybody thinking of perpetrating such atrocities in the future needs to know this;
They will not be arrested and then protected.
They will not get their day in court.
They will not play the system.
They will not live on in safety at the expense of the society they have assaulted.
    They will be killed instantly.

Taking such vermin alive should not even be an option.
These outrages have to be stopped.

I'd not put it in either solitary confinement or the special wings away from others.
Let the c*** be in constant fear, it'll only be a matter of time before it gets a painful death.

Don’t always work like that but it should - he will be in solitary for a couple of years then get a cell on a block with the nonces and like minds. He will cost a fortune to prison and will get constant supervision amd psychiatric help on a weekly basis Given his age he is unlikely to be in general population for 10 years if ever.

They will get at him sooner or later but why should a con do time for a job that our legal system hasn’t the balls to do.

he is already trying for Rampton or Broadmore given todays performance.

mind you every meal he has will have a little bit of turd injected into the potatoes and be garnished in piss.

The basic problem I think is that people who are this twisted and evil don't think about consequences.
The kind of animals who murdered Fusilier Lee Rigby or PC Keith Palmer, or those poor girls in Southport, were not deterred by worries about what happens to them personally afterwards.

Action should be taken to stop them.
In all the above cases I think, armed Police could have put the perpetrators down.
    Maybe saved innocent lives.

Indeed I would go even further.
There were so many red flags in this latest case, that the cowardly murderer of those children could have been 'neutralised' quietly and without fuss, in the interests of National Security.
In the days or weeks before he did what he did.

If that had been done, those poor murdered children would still be alive today, happy with their families and dreaming of being a pop star like Taylor Swift.
The whole tragic and horrific saga of their deaths would never have happened.
And that would have been the best news of all.

Back in Blighty ! , Gent is ok but I won’t be rushing back anytime soon- the cyclists got on my tits - they preside over everything a bit like how it’s going over here ! Every time we heard sirens you could bet on it being another cyclist or a pedestrian that a cyclist has knocked over !
