Was on the verge of winning 2025 Strictly, but was discovered to have lied about only having one leg A few of the camera crew had noticed, but embarrassment and good manners had prevented anyone from pointing it out The semi-Final dance routine to 1960's classic 'Jake the Peg' gave the game away
The Lynx Effect... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6z61ylj40o Perhaps one day these wonderful creatures can be safely and legally re-released into the Scottish wilds.
Blimey - they are huge I thought they were like the size of a fat tabby! Bit reckless tho to release them even if well intended.
The continuing Lynx effect... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz6pxdxe4j9o Someone is being very naughty. Where are they getting these cats from?
I'm reluctant to opening this link, whilst back in Bromley a few months back I was in Lidl and bumped into Kojak, he was stocking up on said aftershave.
The more I hear about AI, the more positive I feel about it. Some are saying AI could lead to cures for all Cancers within ten years. That sounds a bit far-fetched right now, but even if it took 20 years, it would still be a staggering conquest of immeasurable suffering. And it raises hopes for other cures too; Alzheimer's Motor Neuron Disease Parkinson's Multiple Sclerosis What a blessing those achievements would be. And AI does not have to mean Artificial Sentience, or Artificial self-awareness, which would greatly worry me. A pity about all that recent guff about teaching millions of youngsters about coding though. In the time it takes to do a degree course in that, it will become irrelevant. AI can do it for you. Like your homework
Any individual now sitting next to me on public transport playing music / videos gets told to turn it off / move. It’s working well so far. It’s my small fightback in London against the lack of courtesy & civilisation.
I don't envy anyone who has to use public transport. Like many things in this Country it's a good idea - indeed we invented it about 200 years ago. But it is so dreadfully under-resourced and has been for decades, that it barely functions. I assume (in the interests of courtesy and civilisation) that by 'told' you mean 'politely asked'... at least to begin with.
Must admit I would be too cautious to comment on most occasions, for fear of getting something sharp bought on the internet stuck in me. If I saw an innocent person being harassed I'd like to think I would step in somehow. But I doubt I would comment regarding music or videos. A sad state of affairs, and not rosy subject for the Good News thread. But fair play to you @Likey if you feel you can do it. The only good news from my perspective is that everywhere I go these days I drive. And it looks like I'm going to avoid getting too poorly to drive safely Beggars at traffic lights is the worst I have to put up with.
