Phone scammers Our workplace and my poor old mum at home are plagued with them. And they are increasingly aggressive, Absolute scum. I cannot believe in 2025 that more can't be done to deal with them. But we never hear about moves to stop them. Just keep getting warned to be careful. In effect, to live in constant fear of these evil cnuts. Well that isn't good enough. If these morons can ring people and intimidate them, then surely an organisation could be set up to ring them and make their lives a misery. Make their business model unviable. I cannot believe the technology does not exist to allow that. Let's harass and bully them for a change. Ringing up scammers all day and taunting them - I wouldn't mind a bit of that kind of fun.
Parking by phone app. I have done this before but it still boils my pee. And cyclist I still detest them
Just put the phone down. Don't engage at all. Don't even answer if the number is unknown, if it's important they'll leave a message. Then there's the emails. Telling you you've won something. They know that we all want something for nothing, that's the basis of most cons.
I agree it’s horrid and for the elderly / living alone is disgusting . On a lighter note . A few years ago a friend of mine ( we worked for Open reach ( BT ) . When he got phone calls from double glazing firms etc , not scammers I suppose , he’d make a note of the number time and date . Then when he had a few calls logged , he’d ring these people up and ask if they wanted a telephone .
SKY TV Mass outage this evening apparently. Website not working either. Useless tosspots All they're good at is taking my money. Well they'd better have this fixed in 24 hours or I'm taking my cash somewhere else.
Make you right, a shame that I cannot say the same. I always tried to pay the bare minimum for my needs. SSN and whatever came with it, which meant not getting the live games.
I gave up all the Sports channels except SSN about three years ago. Even without them, I'm paying a ridiculous amount of money to Sky. Coming up for £2k per year. Three times the cost of a CAFC season ticket. I'm not paying that kind of money for a service that just packs up when it gets busy. I'm almost hoping this latest episode is a cyber-attack. If they come out with some squitter about high demand, I will cut my losses. So far they've said nothing.
Good grief. Car ploughs into a crowd in Liverpool during their street celebrations yesterday, 47 people injured. Nobody seems to know yet why. I pray that nobody loses their life.
No wonder our prisons are overcrowded if we're sending clueless fools like these to the slammer... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cewd4g0nvx5o They should have been ordered to do 10 years community service, Banned from ever buying a copy of the Guardian again, and from eating granola.
