Deserved that tonight, thought QPR looked dangerous with Smith up top and were very resilient at the back.....Our penalty might have been a tad soft but think we had a shout for a couple in the 2nd half....Must admit, love the determination of our players, never giving up and knowing how to run the clock down....we are learning!! Well done yet again LJ and the team...great effort..

Did you notice after we scored the pen, LJ sort of told Taylor and Diedhiou to slow down when walking back into position to hold up a few more seconds.
Very good game management tonight. Kelly had a bit of a mare so replaced at half time. None of this let’s see how you start second half we’ve seen before.
Pack lost it big time and was arguing a bit too much for his booking so he was replaced very soon after.

Yep, I think LJ is getting the hang of this management lark!! Is there any reason why he's not bringing on Palmer??

Before I would have said we don't need the distraction, but now, it's keeping the winning run going!!!

Couldn’t see anything wrong with the previous effort disallowed form Pisano though to be fair

If Weimann hadn't gone off injured he may very well have.

He basically had to make two enforced changes. Taking of the injured Weimann and the woefully low on confidence Kelly so it came down to a choice between Taylor and Palmer and I believe he went the right way. Palmer will start Sunday

I now think that the winning run brings its own un-necessary pressure. I would rather go out to a Prem outfit, so that that pressure is relieved from the fast approaching league games.

Catch 22 really.. A defeat now in any game will dent the confidence some what, it will happen, just depends how we react!

I will never say I want us to go out of a Cup for the sake of the League, but I would suggest rotating the squad significantly. I'd like a lineup along the lines of:

    Fielding

    Kelly
    Baker
    Wright
    Pisano

    Morrell
    Brownhill

    Eliasson
    Palmer
    Watkins

    Taylor

Should be competitive enough to give Wolves a game, as you'd expect them to rotate a bit also (though I think they ought to be going all out to win the Cup, personally), but wouldn't be bitter about a missed opportunity if we go out.

I wouldn’t play both Wright and Pisano as with their injury records we could be left with no right back. I would swap Kalas in for one of them

Good point. You should like to think that would be horrendously unlucky, but why tempt fate?

I thought QPR looked a dangerous side and some of our players were blowing out their backsides after 75 minutes.
So this cup game is a game we could well do without.
There is a monster game at Norwich a week on Saturday.

Nice job laying the groundwork on blaming our cup 'run' for not beating Norwich/winning promotion. Why oh why didn't we just throw the game against Huddersfield!

    I posted on their board:https://www.not606.com/threads/bristol-city-vs-qpr.371768/
I have never seen our own players collapse on the pitch after a league victory before - that shows how hard QPR made it for them. Usually they skip around the ground in celebration.
QPR gave everything - and we were lucky with a dubious penalty - although Pisano’s goal should have stood - but they had a good shout for a penalty too and Pisano could have seen red........
I was particularly impressed by Matt Smith - he was a nuisance the whole time he was on the pitch and we are lucky that McLaren took him off.
Anyway, another 3 points and bring on Wolves!!!

I think the ref missed a few calls for penalty on Diedhiou, especially 10 mins before the one given that looked blatant to me, I wonder if he thought the same after, hence giving the soft one that he did.....equals it self out for me...
