Ahadme reminds me so much of Chris Iwelumo. He’s a carthorse. He’s not good at any of the things a striker of his size should be good at.

Very well put about the lack of responsibility. They continually say they have given Jones the players he wants, that can be taken many ways.

Don’t forget the Ahadme signing was spun at the time by (cough) certain posters as a “£1m signing” <laugh>

Of course, he was nothing of the sort. I think it was the lawnmower brown Noser who revealed the fee comes to an eventual £560,000 in instalments & add ons, but once again Ipswich Town have bent us over backwards.

I still say Pawel Abbott is the worst striker we've ever had. Even to this day I wince when I think of his performance away at Barnet in the FA Cup. Utterly hopeless and hapless.

Yep, even worse. One goal in seventeen appearances before he sodded off to Poland. Thanks to Abbott, I'll always lament that trip to Underhill.

Barry Endean is the worse striker I have seen in my 63 years. Closely followed by Gordon Riddick.

Pawel Abbott was a lower league scrubber @Ponders Revisited …we signed him after one good season at Oldham.

Certain people (cough , he’s Welsh) touted Ahadme as some sort of coup, a player who had a top flight pedigree.

    He couldn’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo.

The apologists were creaming themselves at the signing.

Watching a re-run of Ahadme’s glaring miss from a yard out v Huddersfield, some of his team mates put their heads in the hands in disbelief that he missed it.

Remember when Alfie May was sold ….”he only takes penalties/ he only scores tap ins / he doesn’t close down enough “ , etc etc.

I still think selling Alfie May - he was under contract, ambitious owners don’t sell their best players - was the single most stupid decision at the club in recent years, from a very strong shortlist.

Easy narrative to say May wanted a move, we should have gave a pay rise and extended his contract.
We sold him because we were not prepared to put our hands in our pockets.

It was part of the overall lowering of the budget by our billionaire owners. Don’t you just love a silent billionaire!

Jones had a lot to do with it. He made it clear he didn't fancy Alfie by the way he kept dropping him andsubbing him off early. Curbs said he was mystified by this, before there was any talk of him being available. I think we agreed Jones would stand or fall by this decision.

He doesn’t like a talented player. Prefers a bunch of bruisers with engines.

Ideally, yes, but trying to convert players to this style when it's not their game doesn't work. They don't like it.

    This is Jones' team now.

Before the summer transfer window Charlton won 8 of 21 games on his watch, with the team he inherited.
    That's a 38% win rate.

Since the Summer we have won 5 of 15 league games.
    That's a 33% win rate.

We're going backwards with his players. Unless he would care to deny he chose them.

    @lardiman

As our resident stats man, it would be interesting to know how many times we have scored more than one goal in a game this season.
