I'd like to see Dirk and Suarez start, with Carroll coming on for the last half hour or so. The former pair worked great towards the end of last season.

Theres a difference.
Kuyt is like Diego Forlan. a feed on scraps striker. He does his best work when there is no thinking involved and its based on reaction. Aguero and Suarez as someone else said carve open their own openings and if there is a rebound the likes of Forlan or Kuyt will gobble them up.
In other words, Kuyt is a poacher. As I said earlier Suarez or Aguero can only partner poachers or target-men. They cannot partner each other as they are too alike.

Hope so because to be completely honest im yet to see anything that suggests he's worth even half his price tag.
He's a bit of a victim of circumstance unfortunately. Had we waited until this summer window to find another striker, we may have got someone different in, or him for cheaper.
With only a few hours of the window left, we needed someone who was based in England (so they could get here and have a medical), young, and with a lot of potential. Can't really think of anyone besides him.
Weirdly, the Mirror called it the day before. Think it was a fluke though.
Yeah i know all that and ive heard it a million times - It doesn't answer the fact that so far he has been very disappointing.
I do like Carroll to a certain extent, but his touch is terrible, got no pace, bad awareness, very sloppy, et etc. I know he's young and needs time, and im sure he'll turn out OK - i honestly think he wont reach the heights some people think though.
Positivity is key Skylarker!
Andy can't change the price tag which we paid for him and I suspect that might have put extra pressure on him. I'm positive that, with time, he will be an excellent striker for us. The things you have mentioned can be worked on in training and he will improve those aspects of his game.
I fancy him to get a goal against Arsenal on Saturday!![]()
Yeah i do agree Chris - i guess im just disappointed that we spent £35 mil on a player that clearly needs work.
He will get us plenty of goals and i have faith that Kenny et al will get the best out of him.

At the end of day, the fee was probably based on the fee we got for Torres. If we hadn't got as much for Torres, we wouldn't have paid as much for Carroll.
The fees we paid for Carroll and received for Torres were one-off events and probably won't happen again.

Very true about the wages Bozz - in a sense that's the biggest part of the deal. And something I tend to overlook sometimes!
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the mechanism for the deal with Chelsea was the cost of acquiring Carroll, plus £15m, for Torres?? I might be wrong... GKRK.
and btw Bozz Suarez isn't as good as Aguero![]()
.Are you Schofield in disguise?
This is something that grinds my gears about this forum. People on here comparing Carroll to Aguero. They are completely different types of player. Its like comparing Wayne Rooney to Ian Rush or Thierry Henry.
If you want to compare Aguero to anyone compare him like for like and that is Suarez,Rooney and Tevez.
