Theres a difference.
Kuyt is like Diego Forlan. a feed on scraps striker. He does his best work when there is no thinking involved and its based on reaction. Aguero and Suarez as someone else said carve open their own openings and if there is a rebound the likes of Forlan or Kuyt will gobble them up.
In other words, Kuyt is a poacher. As I said earlier Suarez or Aguero can only partner poachers or target-men. They cannot partner each other as they are too alike.

He's a bit of a victim of circumstance unfortunately. Had we waited until this summer window to find another striker, we may have got someone different in, or him for cheaper.
With only a few hours of the window left, we needed someone who was based in England (so they could get here and have a medical), young, and with a lot of potential. Can't really think of anyone besides him.
Weirdly, the Mirror called it the day before. Think it was a fluke though.
Yeah i know all that and ive heard it a million times - It doesn't answer the fact that so far he has been very disappointing.
I do like Carroll to a certain extent, but his touch is terrible, got no pace, bad awareness, very sloppy, et etc. I know he's young and needs time, and im sure he'll turn out OK - i honestly don't think he will reach the heights some people think though.

Andy can't change the price tag which we paid for him and I suspect that might have put extra pressure on him. I'm positive that, with time, he will be an excellent striker for us. The things you have mentioned can be worked on in training and he will improve those aspects of his game.
I fancy him to get a goal against Arsenal on Saturday!

Yeah i do agree Chris - i guess im just disappointed that we spent £35 mil on a player that clearly needs work.
He will get us plenty of goals and i have faith that Kenny et al will get the best out of him.
At the end of day, the fee was probably based on the fee we got for Torres. If we hadn't got as much for Torres, we wouldn't have paid as much for Carroll.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the mechanism for the deal with Chelsea was the cost of acquiring Carroll, plus £15m, for Torres?? I might be wrong... GKRK.
The money paid for these players is hugly different when you count wages. Carroll is on £80k while Aguero is on £200k, please do not be blinded by the fees alone.

based on these stats Carroll is likely to score 13 league goals this season while Aguero is likely to score 16 goals. Now with this in mind... is Aguero really worth the extra £32m when he'll only score an estimated 15 more goals then Carroll in the next 5 years?

When Carroll is fit he is a ****ing battering ram, nothing can stop him.
He is nowhere near his best at the minute but will be come January I reckon.

Agreed,we only see what the clubs want us to see ;ie the total amount of money exchanged between the clubs,but the finer details like wages,agents fees,bonuses.get out clauses etc are kept in the dark until the player wants his agent to manipulate a move for him.

Personally I understand how Skylarker feels because at that time the fees weren't inflated so much. When you spend £20million+ you expect players who can create out of nothing so-to-speak, Carroll is a target man, different.
Personally I admired Carroll before we signed him but never really looked into him or his abilities. I knew he was a threat in the Prem and when Tottenham reportedly made a £26million bid the day before we signed him I was shocked but felt it was sort of 'right'ish.
Why? Darrent Bent is a poacher and is guaranteed to score, he left Sunderland for £18million + £8million in add-ons.
Football's changed and inflation plays its part. I always use the Torres + £15million = Carroll equation to put myself at ease.
Or the Torres + Babel = Suarez + Carroll (Well, of course that is wrong because the latter is much better)
Or this -
Berbatov - £32million
Bent - £24million
Shevchenko - £30million
Robinho - £32million
Adebayor - £25million
Rooney - £30million
Just some players who either wouldn't command a high fee normally (Bent), in similair situations (Rooney - Young, potential) or didn't do well (Robinho, Shevchenko)

Red Baron not me i already had him in my team ha took the gamble he may not play but it paid off big time, just gutted i moved him from captain to gervinho as you can imagine
KPR. You need to calm down. I wasn't comparing him to Carroll. He's a totally different type of player to Carroll. The question I'm asking is WOULD IT WORK IF SUAREZ PLAYED WITH AGUERO UP FRONT? NOT HOW WOULD YOU COMPARE AGUERO AGAINST CARROLL?
