Rooney is a quality player.
Erm.....since when.
Rooney is overhyped because he's English. He's a non-skilled clogger with the technical ability of Kevin Davies.Andy Carroll isn't talented, but Carroll serves a purpose..he's a traditional number 9 and has both the size and the build to do damage. And his left foot is explosive.
Rooney hasn't got neither the size or the build to do so.

Do you watch football?

Yes and Rooney is not quality. He's vastly over-rated.He has the intelligence of a rocking horse and less technique than Emile Heskey.

KingPepeReina - He's a non-skilled clogger with the technical ability of Kevin Davies - yet his over head goal (goal of the season) was brimmed full or technical ability and impecable technique. if you can write rooney off so easily i would be seriously worried about hendo adam downing & carroll, not one of those players is fit to lace his boots.

KPR the goal he scored against barcelona, was sublime, he won possession played some lovely neat one twos carried on and scored one straight from the catalan handbook, i think someone is letting envy get in the way of sensible discussion.

Heskey scored a better overhead kick than Rooney did when he played for us. One bit of genius means nothing (i scored a pretty good one a few weeks back!).

Im not even interested in this argument BTW <ok>

Skylarker, Il have to have a look at that and get back to you, heskey misses more 1 yard tap ins than any player i have witnessed i didnt think i have seen a worse player until i saw anichebe

Take into consideration i may be slightly biased towards Liverpool!

People, stay on topic.

Aguero, I'd love it to happen, but I think its probably not going to.

But if it did... We'd be in the for the FA and Carling Cups respectively, and we'd be serious contenders for the league.

Rooneys overhead.
I've actually seen better.
John Barnes vs Blackburn.
Peter Crouch vs Galatasaray.
Berbatov against Liverpool at the theatre of debt.

KingPepeReina berbs was not better at all, cant comment on the other two, but the fact is rooney has achieved more than you could ever imagine on the football field, if hes so crap why arent you doing what he is doing? its just hatred and jealousy thats all it is.

Hmmm...there's a few inflammatory devices in these comments for sure...however I think Mr Schofield knows full well what a top top notch all round player Suarez is - and has much MUCH more to his game than just goals.

I'll site one example...gimme another player who could round four Manc defenders in five square yards and beat the keeper. Didn't score the goal btw - but I don't know many players who could've created that chance (ahem, certainly not Rooney)...but I'm not getting into that argument.

Yes, time will tell Schofield. But don't jabber on about performances and goal ratios in different leagues - simply irrelevant. You think he hasn't "made a name for himself" in this one yet? really?

Come on, Rooney is over-rated, but he plays in the hole better than anyone (at least that's what granny says).

He's got a great shot, great feet and expansive passing range - he just happens to be an idiot.

Spevin.
Exactly.
He makes the ''impossible look easy''.For Kuyts second goal, look at where he dropped the ball with the cross,he knew it was going to difficult to defend against. He knew that someone was going to make a mistake, they could only make a mistake from where he put it.His awareness is awesome.

Aurelio's Favourite Doctor a nice honest answer lol i agree he is also over hyped (isnt everyone) but he is a very very good footballer and one most teams in the world would happily make space for and i bet dalglish would snap him up if he could, but we all know that will never happen.
