    It's illegal to take cash off of the door. You are simply not allowed to do it. Also it's not fair to say all of the people doing it are ****s, don't get me wrong plenty are, but it's narrow minded to tar everyone with the same brush.

    However, the organisations that run chuggers don't want cash they want DD's, as they're not earning from cash in a tin are they, hence the spiel about it being illegal.

    Yeah I agree, I have given cash at my front door on numerous times when I had it on me, these people were not looking for DD though.

    As for over the phone, these people cannot identify themselves, so it's a big no no.

    The DD people are directed to take no cash, they want bank details. I tell you, if you pulled out 100k cash they'd be on to the phone to their boss in 2 seconds flat getting permission to take the bread <laugh>
