I would agree with this potentially. we need to make the most of what we have and that might well do it.... provided the midfield is not then two more attacking players and one playing a better more conventional mifielder role. I hate saying DM.. its a falacy. call it playmaker if you like but there is a big role for two guys to stay with play and therefore screen the back 4.
How about Suarez as the F9 with Gerrard making the runs in from the right to score? -------------Suarez------------ -Gerrard---------------Sterling-
Moving Gerrard to the front three means we can introduce Henderson into the first 11 in Lucas's spot, which will stiffen us defensively, allow Allen to play in the spot he plays best, and will allow Shelvey and Sahin continue with the goals. For the derby I'd consider: ---------------------Henderson------------------------ ------Shelvey-----------------------Allen-------------- -----------------------Suarez------------------------- --Gerrard--------------------------------Sterling------- Suarez uses his skill to open up space between the CB's. Sterling and Gerrard exploit that space to get at goal.
I would also, its slightly harsh on suso but we simply must solidify and allen and henderosn could dominate possession. gerrard looks sloppy second half most times so i'd nearly suggest using him as an impact sub for 30mins each game.
