I seemed to have missed the warky, lulu and plum threesome this afternoon. Posting within 2 mins of each other. Very cosy indeed.
I'm not sure if it is a good appointment actually, the good thing about Royle was what he got out of the players we had which was down to his management, I believe he's been given a role more to do with recruitment which I have to say may not be his strongest attribute!!
Thats interesting, didnt you know that I am gay and without a partner at the moment? Do you have tattoos or piercings Mr. Plum? I love the cocky boys like yourself
That's not what I said, they were very good players for the club and good signings by him. I just don't think that was his biggest strength, his biggest strength was management and looking back at his time at man city and us, recruitment wasn't his strongest asset.
How can you be without a partner....you seem like such a nice man. Sorry to let you know that I'm straight but if I was gay........................I'd be way out of your league.
do you know what, i'd probably agree with you if his new role was recruitment, but it isn't. his role is as a mentor, an experienced, trusted head for a novice manager to tap in to, help him develop his knowledge of the role, so to say his biggest strengths are management is key for our untested setup. he's been one of the most successful english managers of the last 25 years (not necessarily difficult...) but i'd rather adams uses someone like that than try and go it alone. i'm sure, as he's already mentioned in fact, he has a list of potential players he likes, but then so will gary holt. everyone will. they'll all go in the melting pot for our new head of recruitment to look at. i'm not keen on the managerial appointment, its not the route i'd have gone anywhere near, but actually there are some encouraging signs developing with the back room staff. indeed if we get, as rumoured, john park from celtic as our head of recruitment, then it will be a hell of a coup. but you can have whoever you like behind the scenes, it'll still be down to having good players playing well - you get nowhere without that.
Is your missus a two bagger by any chance? I like braking in the straight macho acting ones. They refuse to come out but once they get the taste they cant get enough. With an alias like yours, you are definitely on the gaydar.
In theory that sounds great but how often do we see this kind of thing working in england? Surely it underminds the manager? Last year I think you probably had the best squad you've had in years it was just mismanaged and too many players came in. I have no idea how you're going to do next season, it could go sooo many ways
how does it undermine the manager if he chose those individuals though? it doesn't. i agree it hasn't always been a success in this country but it works very successfully on the continent and managers are beginning to want this sort of setup over here too. lets face it, we are pretty backwards in this country when it comes to something a little different to what we are used to! next season, as you say could go either way. we will have, on paper, one of the top sides in the league and if the new manager gets things to click early on we should have a very productive season but at the moment, you may as well stick a pin in the league ladder to predict where norwich will end up, but then, that sort of sums up the championship...
I geuss he was told he would be given the managers role if he appointed someone above him with more experience? It seems he has already been undermined anyway after the Norwich board rejected Steve Foley coming, so who knows what's going on behind the scenes. Glad to see you're looking at this with the glass half full supers, it's very tough to gauge what will happen
trust me, i am NOT confident about this season. i totally disagree with the choice of manager and although i'm a little happier now with his back room appointments and what looks to be a decent first signing, i think adams reign is far more likely to end in disaster than success. had we appointed adams having been in this league for two or three years i'd have been absolutely fine with it but our best opportunity to bounce back is this coming season and we've handed the reigns to a novice... to me, that is an unnecessary risk at a time when we should be giving ourselves the best possible chance of promotion. they should have gone all out for mackay because he would have had us challenging for the top 2 without question. now, as i said yesterday, we could end up anywhere, regardless of the quality which we will have in our team.
To be honest, I'm a bit confused over this. I honestly believe him when he says he wouldn't have moved to any other club than Everton!
