You could argue that respect is listening to the fans who are the entire essence of your club. Roman doesn't listen. Therefore, I would argue, has no respect. Our owners are nowhere near the best, but they earn alot of Kudos for listening to the fans every now and then.

Like I said, success through his wealth, but at what expense? Are you happy with how your club is perceived in the footballing world? Whilst this siege mentality will bring your club together for the final few weeks of the season, it's just glossing over the biggest problem with your club right now; Roman. He came, to took you to a higher level, he's improved your team and youth, now he needs to go and let the club move forward. He hasn't got the nouse, respect or (with FFP) money to take the club higher. His two top manager targets won't be coming in, and the next manager needs time which they won't get either. He lacks patience.

You still would rather keep him?

Yes obviously i would love to have success on the pitch, a great youth system and love and respect around the football world. But realistically not everyone has this - it aint a perfect world!

Can you honestly say Liverpool for instance have had any less PR disasters than us these last few years; with a fraction of the success on the pitch. So as it stands, I'd rather our owner that the ones you've had in the last few years.

I think all Chelsea fans just hope that lessons have been learned and the club will seriously consider how we move forward this summer to build success and a long term vision....with Roman if he can change a little.

However by having some awful results on the pitch has led to the position not getting better. If Rafa wanted to get us on side, results needed to improve, instead they got worse. So he is the easy target for the fans' frustrations, right or wrong.
He had no time to get those results! Players cannot perform when the fans are spending more time chanting against the manager then supporting them. He was doomed to fail from the outlook by the fans, and the sad part is that most see that as a victory for their, "I told you so", mentality.

surely that has an impact on the players, they can conveniently use it as an excuse for being poor as well, and hide behind the fans blaming Rafa.

i have seen a few of your games where the players were poor, but the blame is put on rafa by the fans, the players will damn sure hide behind it.

not an example i would want at my club to be honest, but if you are happy who am i to give a ****.

as for your comment "any chance to have a dig", really lol.

But then if we'd have welcomed him with open arms we'd have been called hypocrites or plastic or something. Fans have a right to their opinion and match day is when it will be heard most.

I agree that the lack of support could have had an effect on the pitch but he should still be able to motivate the players to still go out and do a job. He should be able to get our team to beat say QPR at home, regardless of the backing of the home support; which doesn't boo the players.

I agree. I think some players can take that attitude and use the situation to under perform. Personally I try and cheer on the team and just ignore Rafa is the manager. But you know what some football fans are like, they love the pantomime of it all and aren't the most rational bunch - regardless of who they support.

And yet alot of the Liverpool fans criticised the board rather than just blindly attack Kenny for that. Why didn't they get involved? Why did they sit in Boston drinking coffee until it was too late? A football club isn't a one man led organisation. There's alot of people who should be running it together. The board let Kenny deal with it all on his own - and for that, we disaproved and questioned them for. There are a fair few LFC fans who still want FSG out because of things like that - as well as others. Even if they saved us from the previous, clueless idiots, they've ****ed up themselves. We don't blindly hold on to them and accept whatever they do because they stopped us from going into administration. I support the club, not the manager/board/owner/players. Those four can change, I'll still be here.

To most outsiders, it seems that Chelsea fans support Roman. That is the difference.

Look i respect the opinion that you've a right to so what you need to go do to cos it's your club..... but if you can't see that there's more impact by the negativity than just on benitez then that's being naive. Sorry.

If you'd welcomed him with open arms lfc fans would bet the ones up in arms and you laughing but in the end its the same old cheslea story.. certain few players who are ageing rapidly calling the shots in the dressing room and the fans abuse is giving them the perfect platform to do so.

Ambramovich has looked like he's been trying to get shut of the kabal ever since they took out anchelotti.... yet here we go again. Its actually very funny.

Also the difference is we've had massive success under our owner (as recently as May) where as you've had the worst few years in living memory in terms of trophies and league form. It's therefore a lot easier to critise and protest against an owner/board who have done very little for you. Of course you'd side with Kenny over some faceless foreign board members.

Ancelotti?? He was sacked because of a poor 2nd season (in a very uncompetative league that year) and poor performances in Europe. Players had nothing to do with it and all seemed to like and respect him.

Player power arguably got AVB sacked but he was the author of his own misfortune not knowing how to deal with the intergration of the new and old. He showed a lot of disrespect to Lampard in particular who is arguably our greatest ever player, and has proven since still has loads to offer on the pitch.

This player power thing is not always a bad thing and pretty much got us to 2 C.L finals in the face of adversity. More clubs could benefit from the sort of leaders we've had these last few years.

Don't get confused between 'siding with' and 'not attacking'.

Discussioning skills 101.

Also our current owners, whilst overseeing poor team form, are still recovering the club from being hours away from administration because of the ineptitude of the previous owners - but don't let that shroud your judgement. Our owners have done alot. They saved our club. You could argue that's more important than any trophy. Again, don't let that shroud your judgement.

ffs

of course you have had massive success, you have ****ing paid for it for crying out loud.

you got a **** team you just go out and buy a new one, we don't have that luxury, well ****ing done.

the owners have come in and shown we hopefully wont now be shafted on wages etc and no more waste of spaces earning mega bucks sat on their fat asses on the bench and have young manager for the future with new ideas, you had one of them remember in AVB, hows he getting on?

of course means nothing to you as you have a waste of space playing in the first team who earns loads of money, you will just go out and buy a Falcao though, get more satisfaction from a player wanting to come to my club because of the history and honor of playing for that club rather than getting them just because we can pay silly money and wages, but guess i am just odd.

The debate was rumbling on nicely and then you had to ruin it with digs about the money we've spent. Liverpool have been whoring themselves around for years trying to get foreign ownership to plough money into the club. It's not really worked out where as we've had an owner whose unconditionally put his money in and led to us having some great times at the bridge. You wouldn't have minded if it was you, trust me I know what it was like when we were ****e.

Yet you lot just cos you stood up to some awful owners a couple of years ago think we should do the same. The situation is not comparable. Football fans are fickle, irrational, pastionate, stupid, cleaver and all in between. Just cos you lot wear red jourseys and we wear blue doesn't make you any more or less moral or right.

The funny thing is, they only hate Rafa because of his comments about them when we played them in those CL semis.

Even funnier is he didn't say them, it was a Twitter quote which viralled.

And totally hilarious is the media saying this wasn't really a rant, when it was a little angrier than his "facts" statement they all called a rant, while not apportioning any blame for the devastating 1-4 humiliation at OT in 2009 to Fergei's hateful and tight-lipped "Beyond the pale" rant. Those silly journos are silly like Chelsea fans.

So basically what ever we do you think we're wrong / classless / bitches then. Mmmm....

Maybe you just don't like us and any chance to have a dig.

Ultimately we didn't want RDM sacked but if he was and then say Jose had been appointed in his place, we could have lived with it. Instead a guy who slagged the club and worse still, slagged the fans off during his tenure at one of our biggest rivals (certainly at the time) then shows the hypocrisy of accepting a job offer from our club, presumably out of desperation cos no one else of note wanted him post Inter.

I can actually understand why he was appointed, it's a decision of the head made by a business man. But as fans, we didn't want him.

However by having some awful results on the pitch has led to the position not getting better. If Rafa wanted to get us on side, results needed to improve, instead they got worse. So he is the easy target for the fans' frustrations, right or wrong.

And who made the job offer? Benitez didn't make Roman take him on. Why do you continually refuse to address the Roman issue, or pour any blame onto him? He's the guy who's doing it all.

you stick with terry and stick him in as your new manager then <ok>

the thing is the adversity is entrie self inflcited... anchelotti got the boot after having an amzing firs tyear wither you couldn't stop scoring. why did you have a poorer second season? you tell me i guess... the fact is you've now gone from bad to worse and ended up with a guy who jumped at the chance to get back into the game after you leaders lets dimatteo down. while you boo benitez (who i don't have all that much time for as a manager due to how he bought badly for us aquilani v mata example) you are headed to 4th.. MAX.... 6th last year.. I'd say wake up and get shut of the leaders.... you should have been near the top this season but right now it looks dodgy as even poor arsenal are catching up.

God if LFC had anything at all about them we've even be catching you!

Don't joke, then I'd know we really were in trouble!! :p

i take it from that that you are confident of champions league next year and wouldn't mind terry being given the top job.

It should be interesting to see if the rumoured mourinho will turn up or who will.... but hey... if some bizarre happenings occur in the next 3 games you might regret those comments... i might win the lottery too mind. <ok>
