That's a useful thread FP. Any aftertimes from now on, posted elsewhere, can just be moved here.

Tomorrow after spurs beat the spammers 5-2 and Kane scores another hatrick I'll be on here saying I had a grand win/double at even money.

Always back West ham to win 2-1 3-1 which pays well over the season.

Maybe not this season but last night was a start.

If I say I had a win on Red Rum winning the National, will that count as 'aftertime'? <whistle>

A genuine aftertimer from last night which I thought I’d share given the rarity of it happening.....

Went into local PP yesterday evening and placed a treble on two evening races at Wolves and the Arsenal/Chelsea game.

First up was Spare Parts in the 4.40 which I took 2/1 about a few mins before the off. Soon after the bet was placed, he began to drift to 3s before going off at 5/2. I stayed in the shop to watch the race and he wins comfortably so bet still in play when I leave.

Next horse was King Kevin in the 6.40 taken at 5/2. I didn’t watch the race or know the result until looking at the daily thread and saw Stick’s comment. I then looked at the replay of the race and saw that KK was left at the stalls, 5 lengths off the back at the start, still at the back turning into the straight so race over...... until somehow it stays on, gets the gaps when needed to nick it on the line.....I was beginning to think my luck might be in..

and then the final leg was for Arsenal/Chelsea to end in a draw at 9/4 (I was very tempted to do the ht/ft draw/draw initially 4/1). Again, I did not watch the game or see the result until I switched on the highlights at 11.30 last night and with 80 mins gone, everything was looking good .....until Alonso scores with 6 mins left - game over surely......... and then Bellerin pops up in injury time to level matters ......still time for Morata to be put through one on one with Czech and miss and Zappacosta to hit the bar with the rebound......

Most days in punting land Zappacosta scores or King Kevin doesn’t get up but someone somewhere was smiling on me last night so nice feeling when it goes in your favor the odd time....

HNY to everyone and hope some things go in your favour during 2018 too...

There was no gamble involved here as this is just a tale of woe from advice not followed.

My mate texted me Raz De Maree for the Welsh National forty minutes before the race. I was not going to touch the race but I looked at the horse and it had finished second in last year’s event. What bothered me was where he had got the tip from as I had never heard of the trainer or jockey (I found that Gavin Cromwell trains in Ireland and the jockey was 16).

He did not reply to my text until a couple of minutes before the off, when he told me the dodger old geezer who had passed it along and that he had backed it each way with SkyBet (six places). The next I heard from him was “Get in there” thirty seconds after it crossed the line...

You've never heard of James Bowen? Do you not follow the jumps at all?
