The vote will be by the season ticket holders and members. Which rules out most of the 60,000 who signed the online petition against it. It could still be voted in democratically by Allamesque means. I certainly hope so.
"Lord of the Wing" ...Jimmy Johnstone. 30 minute documentary dedicated to MND sufferers. Billy Connolly narrates. Worth a viewing.
My auntie died of that. Awful, awful, disease. Loads of money, her late husband was a millionaire but no amount of money can help you, as it showed with Don Revie and David Niven amongst others.. After seeing what happened to her and the effect it had on my cousins I said if I was ever diagnosed with it I would wait awhile and top myself before it got to a stage where it was out of my control. Easier said than done of course.
Sorry to hear about your auntie Barca. Indeed a horrible disease. My mother died a few years ago after a long period of dementia - another one of those terrible debilitating illnesses. How my sister coped with my ma's helplessness I will never understand. There's much to be said for legalising euthanasia if you ask me.
My Dad was in Hull Royal only last week and the Doctor asked my Sister for permission to to classify him as DNR(do not resuscitate). She bravely gave that permission, but then the Doctor had to ask Dad himself. Dad: **** that, we've got TWS on Tuesday. I'm only half joking unfortunately. You Ull.
She suffered with Chrons disease as well. Another unpleasant condition. To be honest, she wasn't the greatest of people but no one deserves what she went through. A good friend of my mum and dad had dementia/Alzheimer's. He was so correct and upright but ended up effing and blinding at everyone in the care home though I never heard him swear once before his illness. Unfortunately this went on for sometime. Had to deal with my mother having early onset dementia, made even worse by the fact she knew something was wrong. She used to ring me up sometimes 10 times or more a day about the same thing and not know she had already done so. A proud woman who won a medal in WW2 for her work on an ack ack battery. I remember taking her home from taking her shopping and as she went in the door she turned round and said that you can live too long. Soon after she had a stroke and died not long after aged 90 which was a blessing in disguise as her biggest fear was ending her days in a residential home instead of her own.
Feel for you & your sister & families Kemps. My sister and I had to do exactly the same at HRI in '98 for our dad. I'm sure you're reflecting your dad' s sense of humour, which he'd appreciate. Humour is a healthy way to help handle such adversity.
