cardiff had a great result last night i enjoyed the game and no complaints from me>>>.im a happy man 2day indeed......onwards and upwards
I would call that winning ugly (also lucky) good goal keeping, dreadful ref . But a win , and we kept going until the end, Mutch looked good , we must keep the ball on the floor and play to our strength which is our midfield .
tbh swamp ive read my post back and dont knkow what the fk im on about so i`ll take your word for it ....................i just realised i write like yoda speaks >>>>>thats thatchers fault
Being the favourites for most matches you can expect teams to be doing that against you all season. Some will be even more better equipped than huddersfield to get the draw, maybe even the win. The ref definitely missed a pen in favour of you guys but I think it was the manner in which your striker went down which is why it wasn't given. Looked a bit fake. Apart from that he had a decent game, (the benefits of replays). Was quite surprised at all the empty seats you could see but I guess that's the backlash from rebranding. Whether its on tv and raining or not, 21k on the opening game of your anticipated promotion winning season is still poor. Overall though, 3pts in the bag, can only improve performance wise, top of the league until later today. Win more matches like that and we shall be (hopefully) seeing you next season in the prem
It's the middle of August and there are a load of supporters (of ALL clubs) that are away on holiday. I personally know of 3 ST holders away with their families who couldn't be there last night for that reason, let alone the pay-on-the-night guys and gals absent for the same holiday committments. No matter what anyone prefers to believe, Sky broadcasting a game live combined with dreadful weather will always reduce attendances. I don't see 21,000 at the CCS last night being poor at all. Let's see what the turnout the other clubs achieve with the effect of live Sky broadcast and bad weather.
I wonder if Whitts was playing deep because McNuggett seemed to be playing right midfield and spent most of the match near the half-way line! I thought Huddersfield were the better team to be honest when they tried to play football. Still a win is a win and to quote that old football cliche "we'll play a lot better this season and lose"
twas a great attendance if u ask me shows that a good core of support is left and many will return if we keep pushing on from here.......it happens all the time ....and really!u cant excuse the weather and sky tv dude that will always take down crowds like ours
Poor performance all round, not sure why HH was the lone striker, I will back MM but he must improve his tactics. Why he didn't make changes on the hour is beyond me. Everyone could see we weren't doing well enough, an ugly and undeserved win.
Of course weather and sky will reduce crowds yes, but I wouldn't really say that applies to the first game of the season. It's the time of the season when fans are normally the most excited to see their teams and new players play. But yeah, I suppose holidays and such would probably have affected it to. Good luck anyway guys
No 'backlash' at all - you've been taking too much notice of the media who have been trying to stir it up. 21,000 for a game (against a team like Huddersfield) which is live on SKY is about what I would expect (we've had a bit less last season when games were live on TV). There will be over 23,000 more for the next game.
You have to remember that in the season that the Jacks got promoted they struggled to get much over 13,000 on several occasions before Xmas (that's only 65% capacity). The attendances would clearly improve over the latter half of the season if we were in the top six - again.
Wasnt the best performance but on a few occasions Huddersfield picked up the ball in our half and got closed back to their keeper. But going forward we showed no edge. Still a win is a win, even better when they were feigning injury as said before, the ref was an absolute joke, but never mind on to the next game.
As soon as Mason and Kiss came on we looked like nicking it, the whole game was spoiled by the referee. The wife watched the game on TV when Tom and i attended. Comments, Cardiff looked lovely in their new red shirts (Ok) ....Why were Huddersfield playing in shirts that made them look like Nuns (Priceless)
Nice one DJR. Next round on you, or have you transfered to the Posh seats already !!! Well done mate.
I thought we were awful. When are we going to figure out how to breakdown teams that put 11 men behind the ball!! HH should never of been playing up front on his own, Mason should of started along side him. What was with waiting until the 78th minute to make a change!! Mason should of been on at half time! Sorry MM but think you got the team selection and tactics totally wrong for this game! We won't be quite so lucky again!
