Giving him a few games with the U23's might help, and get him among the goals again, if his attitude is the problem we should cut our losses and get shot, maybe a part exchange could be sorted to the benefit all concerned.
For those that like cold hard stats there is another fantastic article on RR right now from mobilemackem ( Tiltman ) . In summary he is saying ( fully backed by analytics and stats for defence and attack etc) that no team has ever won automatic promotion in this league playing the way we do ( poor at creating, regularly conceding, too many draws etc ) Read it. It is both sobering and maddening, given the current owners still persist with him and the amount of clappies that believe he deserves more time. Ho hum
Do you ever do anything other than whinge about Ross? You know that whinging on here constantly won't have any effect other than making you look like a boring broken record? As it happened we didn't go up last year but we very nearly did, it could have gone either way. It looks like the defence might be sorted now so more clean sheets should happen.
We are still a bit short in the outfield six imo, plenty of bodies, but a modest improvement on quality and options, in the Jan window, plus increased contributions from within, should set us up for a successful run in this time, fingers crossed.
Aye just a couple of tweaks needed innit. I know we're still pushing it with the wage bill, I wonder if (assuming the takeover happens) we'll have to pay up a few players contracts to move them on if we don't get any offers for them in the window.
I don't think anyone would lose sleep if they moved on, we should be able to get something for Grigg as his record at this level is brilliant and another manager will fancy their chances at getting him scoring again. I don't think it'll happen at Sunderland though, sometimes it just doesn't work out.
