Why has this suddenly become an issue. City will cope. We had this thread / discussion during the summer months. As has already been said Elmo/Egypt are out of it already so we shall only lose Aluko so others will fill that void. For the record the AFCoN is played between 19th January and 10TH February so assuming that Aluko gets to the final he will be away/missing the following games :- Peterborough-Away, Derby-Home OR FAC4th round, Millwall-Away and Brighton-Away. Not that bad when all is said and done. He may miss less game IF the winter is a bad one. With Fryatt back hopefully we have Aluko's replacement sorted.
