Probably not, what I saw of Elabdellaoui at Chelsea he looks a much better defender than Elmo, yet to see what his crosses are like. However I think Mbokani would have been more suited to the roll at Chelsea than Hernandez.
Fair point about Mbokani, although as I've said before I think his all action style masks a lack of useful product.
I agree his end product is lacking. But in a Chelsea type game Hernandez was largely ineffective, and Mbokani would have held the ball up better to allow other to get forward.
I hear what you say but I am sure there are a number of African countries such as Gabon (where the current AFCoN is being played) that have temperatures which are similar all year round - so if it's cool enough now it should be cool enough in our summer. In fact temperatures in Ngaoundéré and Yaoundéin in Cameroon (the 2019 venue) are actually cooler in June and July that they are in January and February. The same is true for Abidjan and Korhogo in the Ivory Coast (the 2021 venue) and indeed for most parts of Guinea (the 2023 venue). It was also the case for Equatorial Guinea (the 2015 venue). So, all in all, I am not entirely convinced that temperature is the main reason for staging the AFCoN in January and February. Isn't it more to do with an established tradition to hold it now?
So when does Mbokani come back. I dunno what country he plays for... Egypt are still there so Elmo may be a while longer
As it stands Mbokani will be on his way back this week unless D.Congo can equalise in the last ten minutes. Currently 2-1 to Ghana.
Aye mbokani started and played the full match but they lost to ghana He's on his way back Egypt n elmo play in just over 1 hour but i fully expect them to win and reach the semi finals
Mbokani is back any day now, Congo got knocked out. Egypt are playing on Talk Shyte now against Morrocco.
