    That's Syria in 2018, apparently.
That's what the "This media is presented out of context" notice is about.
Either that or it's an outtake from Four Lions. Not sure.

I did notice but didn't want to spoil the joke. Saw something say possibly Syria, people were trying to get it removed. I think people are losing their sense of humour, because it was genuinly funny.

Who Boris...I did and would again, absolutely no way I would vote Starmer in. I thought he would be better than he is (Starmer), it feels like he's a rabbit caught in the headlights, completely dazed and docile. I can't think of a single thing he's said, where I've said, yeah I agree with that. Some big tests of what he has actually got to offer over the coming weeks, but I won't be holding my breath, it will be more, should have done this, should have done that, but I don't really know what Labour would have done, because I have to ask the Unions first.

I have to agree. For all of his credentials, he's a fairly mediocre leader. I don't know if a lot of that is down to 'personality politics' which seems to dominate the media stories. In which case Boris has it in abundance, even if he is a bumbling buffoon, he certainly knows how to work the media. Starmer just comes across as a bit insipid and not very dynamic. Which is a shame, because he's probably the better statesman.

I've honestly tried to like the guy Starmer, he's not stupid, far better than Corbyn for me, but he just don't have the Blair charisma. I hate Blair today, but at the time, he knew how to win the public vote, and when it comes to the polls, that's all that counts.

I seriously think Labour need to put a woman forward. There's one woman, always outspoken, I don't mind her, but I expect she rubs too many people up the wrong way. Jess Phillips! That's the one.

Yeah Jess Phillips is a very good MP. She'd make an excellent leader. Probs too 'Brummie' for your Daily Mail voting public, but she would be an excellent choice imo for Labour.

I like Jess, she's to the point, no fook arsing around. I like that but sadly it might not appeal to your average voter. DM readers as you call them lol.

Yeah, you know what I mean though. She's a woman, she's got a regional accent and she's working class.

Basically equates to a Communist to some of your Hyacinth Bucket types.

I judge what people say, couldn't care where they come from in the country. I've noted Jess for a long while now, and I know she speaks from the heart. I also like the Manchester guy, Andy Burnham is it - so many candidates better than Starmer.

Have you ever, on any subject heard Starmer say what "should" be done instead of waiting until after the event and saying what "should have" been done?

There is a reason he's known as Captain Hindsight .

People sometimes think I'm anti Labour, I'm not, but I'm strongly anti militant / anti union. But even I try to look beyond that if the people are right. Jess & Andy are two people I would consider voting for, but Labour don't put them up, so I don't vote for them.

Yeah Andy Burnham is a seasoned campaigner and very effective in public office. He's held in high regard in Liverpool for his work bringing justice for the Hillsborough victims and he's done a lot of work as shadow health secretary to highlight where healthcare standards need improving. He's also proved to be a really good mayor for Manchester and he's another one with leadership in his makeup.

One of the reasons I went off him, i soon realised he was following in Corbyn's footsteps, I think it's a rooted problem.

I loved it when he went head to head with Boris, was a proper test of Andy's bartering skills, and he came out of it looking good.

I'm seeing figures of 20,000 Afghans to be allowed to come here long term, absolutely no problem with that, as long has the majority are women and children. I do not want to see a higher percentage of adult males coming in. Kids and mums first, same rule as I would apply to any rescue situation.

I also thought Starmer would do a good job but hes atrocious.

Jess Philips is a good local MP type, but she'd be a terrible leader. The politics that interest her are very small, often about gender and most average people find that beyond ****ing boring.

Boris will win atleast two more elections, Labours entire front bench are dreadful. The entire party has zero personality.

In truth, I think theyre finished and the UK needs a new party. People too stubborn tho.

I'm not sure Boris will hold on for another two elections. He needs swing voters like myself, and as I currently sit and think about it, I've got nothing I need to vote him in for, Brexit is done now.

The only thing that willl get me back to the voting booths is if someone tried to reverse Brexit.

If the General Elections were today, I just simply wouldn't vote. You are right though, this country needs a new party but I think we'd even manage to fook that up, because there would be so many names I would never vote for. So it really would come down to the face of the new party.

I think the thing for the future is making GREEN affordable, whatever party comes up with the best economic plan on people's pocket, will be a vote winner. I'd also want to see brands such as supermarkets stamped on, I'm fed up with the consumer getting the blame in the environment challenges.

Boris' popularity will fall in the polls when he withdraws the covid payments, this is where Starmer could make ground, but he's bound to fook up even that simple challenge. Thus food banks will have to replace the shortfalls. Going to be interesting.

Labour could do a lot worse than appoint Mark Drakeford the Welsh party leader for overall party leader - singularly impressive in dealing with Covid, leading from the front and answering every direct question put to him with a direct answer - seems to have honesty and integrity in equal measure. Popularity risen markedly in Wales for his handling of the pandemic.
