He could have had a bomb strapped round his body, why take the risk?

Hardly surprising when you give the worthless dregs of society the weapons and know how to murder they do it.

We occupied Afghanistan for a while a couple of centuries ago. We were pretty good at war back then though.

Not sure if winning a war was what Afghanistan was all about. Obama maintains he was dead set against invading Iraq but was all for rooting out terrorists who were being trained by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Bit of a cop out as when he voted against a second campaign in Iraq it was probably way before he ever thought he stood a chance of becoming president himself. You can say all sorts of sh1t when you are in opposition but it's a different kettle of kippers when you get to be in charge (stand up Nick Clegg) Being in favour of the invasion of Afghanistan looks like Obama's way of trying to save face.

If he was that bothered about hunting down terrorists and shutting down their training camps the Yanks picked the wrong -istan. The place to sort that out is Pakistan but everyone is too chickensh1t to do anything about it. All the 7/7 bombers went there for training and their government has turned a blind eye to all sorts, not least Bin Laden being under their noses for so long. Obama knows that if he tried the same stuff with Pakistan as with Afghanistan it would be a total failure. Can you imagine what it would be like in the UK if "The West" decided to deal with Pakistan?

The Taliban just shot a 14yr old girl in the face for writing a blog criticising conditions in Pakistan, how on earth are you meant to negotiate with that sort of fundamentalist nonsense? I am convinced the Allies are on a hiding to nothing in the middle east and with soldiers being shot by the very people they are trying to help (Police trainees and the like) the idea that soldiers are fighting for democracy is a joke.

Some people just don't want our version of democracy so why are we so intent on trying to dish it out to them? Saddam & Bin Laden are dead, the USA can claim its victory and get the hell out of Dodge. I wince everytime I hear another UK, US or UN soldier has been killed, we need to get out and the sooner the better.

Let's not forget the Afghanistan villagers. The ordinary people who don't want to fight.

You seen the look on those ****ers faces? Miserable ****s. They want us to go and put them out of their misery.
