A lot of us Spurs fans are beginning to think that we ought to be giving young Naughton his chance in our first IX.
I agree, the ref had a bad day, but I'd rather Harry and Levy, as well as Pardew maybe , just motivate their teams to win the next two games. Leave the smashing of bottles to you know who.
Our first IX? We playing with 9 instead of 11 next year? Is this part of Harry's masterplan? Joking aside, Corluka will go over Summer and so Naughton will provide excellent cover for the fullbacks - especially as Rose isn't as good as perhaps we all once thought.
I actually watched the game and as a Norwich fan I can say Arsenal were denied two clear penalties. One for Simon Lappin's rather obvious handball, and one for Naughton (Thanks for him btw) pushing van Persie flat on his face when he would have scored. (Goal scoring opportunity, so maybe a red card). So, the decisions just about evened out.
I watched it too, I agree the ref was equitably inept. However, I always question when punters, pundits, players and managers say that decisions evened out, as if the chronology of the decisions has no or little effect on the game. If Norwich earned their first obvious shirt pulling penalty, would there have been an Arsenal penalty shout, for example. We'll never know. Same with the red card situation. It might have been a different game entirely. Evening out the decisions is no excuse for poor refereeing. I do think, in this case, that it's inaccurate to say that the ref robbed us, because the different game may have had a less favourable result.
