Thought that was a pretty impressive performance from us apart from a complacent 10 mins leading to the Defoe chance. Impressed by AOC in his last couple of performances and am really impressed with the improvement in Gomez from his early season performances . Actually everyone put in a good performance today though that comes with the proviso that Bournemouth let us play . Only slight downside is that again we were a bit wasteful in front of goal.
When we are 3:0 up I knew there was no way back for Bournemouth because lightening is not going to strike twice.
Yep. I predicted a very good result and performance and this is exactly what we got. Bournemouth and his manager fit in with the football we like to play against. Very similar football to us but with "inferior" players meaning we were superior in all departments.
Not that I'm complaining. We needed that win. But looking at it semi objectively it shows why young British managers like Howe will struggle to get a job at a big club. Tactically we all knew how Klopp was going to play. And most will have worked out that Bournemouth playing their usual game would face a demolition against us. Yet I and many were confident that they were not going to change their system to counter us. He isn't versatile experienced or savvy? enough to try another system.
We have a chance cos it will be an open game. Personally a draw Would do me if we could be sure of beating Swansea..
Arsenal play a passing game too but with less pressing and pacey (probably) than us. The difference with Bournemouth is that they have better players than B and probably of equal quality to us in most departments. They have a slightly better defence but we have a better attack. A combined Arsenal LFC team might have 6 of ours and 5 of theirs. I think it depends on who starts better. If we start well and score, we could get the win. Spurs seem to be inconsistent this year so finishing above Arsenal is vital for a CL place.
I think the game may be won and lost around xahka's position. If we get about him and out number them in that zone using coutinho, that's where I think it might be won. Cue lovren og...
Our style of play suits away than home, because teams are going to come out and attack us.At Anfield most team sit back.
As soon as the match started I knew we were going to be fine. They were passing the ball in defence and going nowhere. I said prior to the game that Howe will not be hard skinned enough to play a defensive long ball game at home and go for a 0-0. I honestly think we will struggle if all teams sat back home and away against us. If all teams adopted " fast attacking LFC are coming to town, we'll take the point" motto we are in big trouble.
if our players learn that the first chance there is no selfishness allowed and square the ****ing ball we would win more games see mane and firmino. if we make sure of the first chance we get in games they have to open up and then we kill teams. once the first goal went in in this last one. they were on a chasing. they don't have the quality or the luck to panic us then.
Why did he have to altr his system? Werent their last two results agaianst us a 2-2 draw at anfield and a 4-3 win at their place? They were a a few inches from getting back in that game. We won comfortably in the end, but as we have shown time and time again if we concede we fold like the England and Wales batting line up in Australia.
think he has used different systems but he wants to play "football the proper way" so whichever system he employs good teams will get chances.
