Lol depends what that means. Depends how "speedy" the biker was and also how far back his sons birds car was in the traffic.
Yeah I’d agree with that. That’s what I’ve been saying all along tbh. Just buy him a new wheel and offer an apology for knocking him off. He might have been partly at fault too, but the onus is on the car’s occupants to check before opening doors.
If it buckled his wheel then he probably was going some. But as I’ve said, the onus is on the occupants of the car to check before opening doors.
This reminds me of something that happened to my mate a couple of months after he passed his driving test. He was driving along a narrow road in his utter ****heap of a first car, think it was something Metro from memory. There was a cyclist cruising down the lane in front of him who was right in the middle of the road. My mate beeped at him to move over but the cyclist didn't so, being 18 and an idiot, my mate decided to drive right up behind him and rev his engine and ****, nudging his back wheel. This continued for half a mile/three quarters of a mile til they got to some junction/roundabout where the cyclist finally moved over and my mate overtook him. As he did the cyclist kicked/punched the back door of the car. My friend stopped the car and the cylcist jumped off his bike, ran up to the driver window and lamped him through the open window. My mate locked the door rolled up the window and in his words thought "I've got three options here. Option 1 I can just drive off. Option 2 I can get out of the car and have a scrap with this guy. Option 3 I can reverse over this guys bike and then drive off". He chose option 3 and drove over the blokes bike as he was screaming outside his car, but his car being a **** heap the handle bars of the bike ripped something out from the bottom of it and he got stuck ontop of the bike and couldn't drive off. So this bloke is still going nuts outside and my mate is sat there like wtf do I do now, luckily for him some people had seen this bloke kick his car and jump off his bike and hit him so had called the police and had intervened to try and calm the guy down. They hadn't seen what had happened with my friend revving away being a **** earlier on. I know what happened here in the end but interested to see what you think would come from this from a legal standpoint?
I don't think he did in the end. My friend said that he was panicked as the bloke was attacking him so was just trying to get away and didn't see the guys bike. The cyclist (sucessfully, obviously) argued that if he was that panicked he wouldn't have put the car in reverse and driven back at exactly the right angle to smash the **** into his bike. The cylcist tried to take him to small claims court but pretty sure nothing ever came of it. My mate wrote his car off (the first of about 8 in 10 years which tells you all you need to know about him)
Why has he opened the door at a red light? Not a parked car. As much as cyclists annoy me I would say it would be your sons cost. Having said that the cyclist must have been coming along the inside rather than overtaking like nornak traffic. I'd tell the cyclist he shouldn't be cutting in the inside lane and tell him to do one!
It's the way things roll on here a perfectly intelligent football thread get 1 or 2 pages max, some bollox like this could go on for weeks.
Yeah kids never lie to their parents, not like he would tell you that the cyclist rode off without paying for his crack Yep very true. I got something like 14 out of chocolate bars ffs.
Oh he lies to me no doubt but not when he's in trouble. That's generally when we get to find out what crap he's been up to.
You need proper legal advice so best you PM @Hoddle Is A God as he is a **** hot lawyer person our resident barrack room lawyer went walk about didn’t he
Is he any good at easements as I've been constipated for 9 nine days due to wrong medication from the docs.?
Luv's got his answer, so I think it's time to widen the appeal of this thread to general advice now. I'll start. Don't forget to fill up
The guy seems ok and may just want his bike wheel fixed, that's fine and the boy will pay. Cheeky ****er asked if I'd pay.
