Over the years he’s had a right go at City. I recall justifiably him slating our “fans” for their violence and then Dave Jones for his poor management particularly in that semi final capitulation v Reading. I listened to him after the Chelsea game and he stood up for Warnock where others criticised his conduct with the officials. Now he’s again stood up for him and as below his comments ring true. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/an-absolute-disgrace-radio-hosts-16133811
I stopped listening to Talk Sport 2 years ago mainly due to Durham's soapbox rants and clear bias against some clubs. His support here is appreciated but nothing will change.
I wasn’t suggesting that “anything would change” but it’s gratifying that someone objective in the media is making a vocal stand for us.
It's nice to know there are others out there who occasionally see things our way. The real impact would be felt if managers in the game said it as well rather than just someone in the media. Respected managers like Benitez, Hodgson and Pellegrini whose teams have also suffered this season, though to a lesser extent, should open up on the poor standards of officiating. The problem is they fear retribution whereas Warnock says it as he sees it and will probably suffer as a result.
Can't stand the bloke to be honest, however, it's nice to hear someone sticking up for the "little" clubs on a National level for a change. All too often the attention to poor officiating is only raised when it cost a big club or England! What I'd love to see is an Opta stat (or whoever does it these days) for how often clubs suffer an injustice, whether understandable or not (e.g. Willan's head being so massive that it can stop a linesman from seeing across an otherwise open pitch). Give us a league table showing that!
