Think people are too quick to get on his back, IMO. Technically with the ball at his feet he's quality, it's his final ball that's letting him down. Looks low on confidence, probably due to the fact some of our 'support' are cheering when he gets subbed off.
He's both actually and that's the problem. Great on the ball and can glide past players like they aren't there but he's not physical enough or fast enough for me, his set pieces are poor and his shooting is literally very hit and miss. I don't think his heart is in it either. When he turns it on it's fantastic to see and his attacking instincts are sound but in a struggling side like ours he doesn't offer enough.
Just another Watmore so far. Where Watmore uses raw direct pace, Januzij uses dribbling technique. They both miss the correct pass, they both take it down blind allies untill they either lose it or put in a poor final ball. Watmore is harder working for the team though. Just you feel there maybe some Genius in the lad. Still waiting to see it though. Not a sniff so far.
Just an opinion but I think he showed great feet and a fantastic pass to create that chance against Spurs and on Saturday he looked good in fits and starts but I guess that's the issue. If he showed his full ability for 70 minutes he'd be a massive asset. Sub him for Watmore after 70 minutes to give defenders something else to think about! Just a big pity as I see the talent he has but not seen enough of it. I personally think he'd be better in the "number 10" role than out on the wing as our Right Back is left exposed all the time as he won;t work back which is fine in an attacking team but in a team under the cosh, we need someone working back.
He fell over about five times during the match which was a bit odd, there's an element of Bambi on ice about him.
He's good in bits but the incident on Saturday where from our corner Palace broke three on two cause he wasn't strong enough to keep the ball which broke out into midfield and could have cost us a goal, which fortunately Pickford saves from Puncheons shot. Those are the incidents in a struggling side we cannot afford and IMO far outweigh the fancy footwork bits he offers us.
He can hurt teams with his ability. He showed that against Spurs, like Marcus says. But he needs to be put in a position where losing the ball isn't the end of the world. I think Moyes needs to have a tactical rethink and consider ways in which we can retain the ball higher up the pitch- playing a similar midfieldsl system to the one that Allardyce used might be a start.
Waste of a loan. Too soft both physically and mentally. Offers the odd moment of class but doesn't do anything with it and seldom helps his full back. Gooch is a better all round player.
Moyes reckons Khazri loses the ball too much, never seen a lad lose it as much as this skinny piece of pi*s….keeping an open mind tho cos he has some flashes
I worry that the loan agreement states he has to play. He's clearly got ability, but his final decision is dog ****.
