Maybe we won't beat City, United, Arsenal but not many teams do regularly so I don't see your point. We won't be relegated for losing against these teams. Adkins knows the teams limitations and won't be stupid enough to try and roll these teams over, I don't think even you'd be that stupid.

There are at least 10 teams we are more than capable of beating home or away. I remember last summer how many people were panicking at how we would struggle in the Championship, they were wrong then, and will be wrong again. Get a grip.

4-3-3 will be more like 4-5-1 against the big teams. The wingers will play in deeper positions.

I agree but it did work for Swansea last season and Wigan done well towards the end. The fact that they did try to retain the ball and play football wasn't expected by the larger clubs and they had a lot of success with it, though if we do try to go toe to toe with the likes of City I think we will get well beaten.
 
If Nadkins gets the sack it will because he hasn't been given the support of new signings, he is a good manager, but needs the tools to carry out his job, what we have is fair, but not good enough to ensure survival. Man City are clobbering Chelsea at the moment, we will struggle to live with them on this form, trying hard not to be negative but you have to be realistic.

Nail on the head Dan. You only need to look at what Blackpool did to us last season to see what being streetwise with a 433 (or variant) can do. One might have thought that Pardew could have gone with the idea when he had the ideal platform to do it. Most of the teams in the league do use it and by no coincidence, the teams that don't are tipped by many to flirt with relegation.
 
Brian Mcdermott will be first to go. Reading have spent a lot of money and the owners will be impatient. Reading start off poor and finish brilliantly, they won't give the manager time and will sack him at Christmas, maybe even before.
 
I still think it will be Steve Clarke or Tony Pulis who'll be first to go. Clarke becaused WBA might well him early on if they get off to a bad start, the fans turn, and the WBA board realise they've made a mistake. Pulis because if Stoke start slowly, he may well decide that enough is enough. He's taken Stoke as far as he can (and in truth, unless they get a big money takeover, he probably has), and he wants to step off the bus.

Where did Steve Clarke come from? When I saw that they appointed Clarke as their manager, I presumed it was Lee Clarke the former Huddersfield manager.

He was assistant manager at Liverpool. Left with Dalglish.

Lee Clarke is now at Birmingham

For the record, I can't see Laudrup lasting long at Swansea
 
I think after a few defeats or maybe a draw to Wigan then I think the real nut jobs on here will become more well known by demanding NA's head... <doh>

Given his great work that he has done, NC is not about to sack him... It takes time to build a team and I am very proud with how we have done under him <ok>

As I've said elsewhere, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Swansea kick off the 2013/14 season with someone other than Laudrup in charge. But I don't think they'll get rid of him early on. Partly because - and I'm happy to be corrected here - I believe that the Swansea chairman is very loyal and willing to give people a chance (though that's not always a good thing!).

And at least Laudrup does have previous managerial experience. Clarke doesn't. WBA are taking a real risk with him, and I really believe that if they start poorly then their fans will very quickly turn against Clarke (and probably the WBA board). Certainly if I was in their position, I wouldn't have been too impressed to see Hodgson replaced by Clarke. (Unlike for example at Norwich, where I think I'd be happy with Hughton taking over. I can see him being a decent fit at Norwich).
 
Looking at your signature, you're behind the times Lamberto - Murray won silver in the modern pentathlon to make it 17 silvers!
