Stunned with that decision tbh. Adkins has done wonders taking them from the bottom of NPL1 to the BPL in the shortest time-frame possible. They struggled early on in the season, but have recently picked up on had impressive run of results in the last 10 or so games, unbeaten in 4 or 5 I think. Hopefully this de-rails their campaign and brings them back down with us, although the gap is 8 points at the moment. I know we sacked NW at the same time and we were in a similar position, but there are differences. NW had clearly lost the dressing room, and the performances in his last few games were not good at all.
Any relation to our own Flavio? Perhaps he has shares in secret. Truly the most ludicrous decision ever and one that could only have come out of "I have a 4 year plan dream" school of football ownership. Sounds like the master tactitian nobody has ever heard of may have a job on his hands placating the fans beofre he has even had a chance to weave his magic at St Mary's. Tip for the St Mary's faithful. If you suddenly find that you get an influx of talent from Serie C on the basis that they have proven track records of scoring regularly in every league they've played in, be afraid. Be very afraid. Names to send you into panic mode are Pellicori, Alberti and Di Carmine and of course, Mark Hughes if he is brought in as a saviour if it all goes tits up. On a serious note, I do hope they stay up. Provided of course that we overtake them before the end of the season.
Yes, a stupid move, I would think. Just when their form was OK and they seemed to be moving out of trouble.
The guy that runs them is very controlling, has had run ins with MLT, got rid of the program sellers, wants a say in team selection and buys. Adkins had every player bought for him and had to work under those conditions.
Looks like someone's been having fun with his Wikipedia account today: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicola_Cortese
'Everyones a little bit racist' and 'schadenfreude' are both songs from the musical 'Avenue Q'. Think 'Sesame Street' for adults. Meant to be very funny ( havnt got round to seeing it myself)
There was a report a couple of weeks ago that Christian Gross (Ex-Spurs) was being lined up for the job as he was apparently close to Cortese both being Swiss. Looks like he turned him down. The new manager has said he has been studying the Saints squad for several weeks, so it's clear Adkins was a dead man walking...
Cheers mate, I'll look it up. BHX now looks locked down, though the snow has stopped and the roads are clearing......
Can't say I'm suprised to be honest mate. I think your luck might just of run out. Btw, did you get what I meant about losing you bag in Cancun, Mexico with 'Air Transat' ?? Thought a seasoned traveller like you might get it
Pochettino must have been lined up weeks ago and Adkins would have known something was going on. Maybe it was supposed to be done at the end of the season but word was about to be leaked (even by Adkins himself) and things came to a head sooner rather than later.
Not good for Saints, Adkins appeared to have turned the corner with them. But great for Rangers as I'm sure the new manager will have his own system and this will cause them to drop points which can only help our cause. 4th bottom increasingly realistic prospect!
