Thats like me going to a bank for a car loan and walking out with a moped...............................

a moped loan youmean?

I totally agree as I am sure you really meant going to a bank for a car and a moped loan, at which point you were informed that car loans were unavailable until January but you could have the Moped loan at which point you accepted the moped loan stating you would return in January for the car loan.

So yes I agree 100% gom.

I know some think we are ManU and that anything that we want we can have but I'm pretty sure the rest are pretty much in the real world knwoing we have targets but can't attain them all. Not a case of blowing the money on the wrong priority, rather the other priorities not working out.

What line of work are you in? Because I've never had a boss who offers advice but doesn't make decisions!

Why shouldn't Reed get involved in team affairs? He is the director of football, that's his job! Sure, the fans jump on Adkins' back when things go wrong, because he's the public face of the club, and he says "the buck stops with me", etc, to take pressure off the players, but you have to realise he's not running the show on his own.

Of course I agree that Adkins isn't running the show on his own, and any boss takes decisions. That would apply for a boss at any level of the heirarachy, but I would also expect Reed, or any other boss, to have the confidence in the manager(s) below them to make their own decisions e.g. team selection, formation.

If a department is not performing as it should, the manager of that department should be the one tasked to sort it out, not their boss, and if they are not up to the task they should go. I don't think Adkins should go as I beleive he will prove he is up to job (at Saints or another club) but only if he's able to make whatever changes he feels are needed.

Yes Reed plays an important role for Saints, but what got me annoyed, and sorry if i was a bit over reactionary, is the suggestion that Adkins is persisting with a formation he might not chose himself, and one that is still not producing results. If it's true how is that positive for morale or performance - teams or manager's.

Yes Imp a moped loan , and being pedantic why have you spelt the m in moped in capital's ?

So we went for defenders and did not get them ? We signed Ramirez , surely if he came when others larger clubs wanted wanted him we could of got a few premiership class carthorse defenders , we had 2/3 months to do so .
Unless of course all the money was spent by someone .

Do you think a manager who has the full confidence of the board would put a team out like that ?
The after match interview said it all , defensive and even looking lost , he is being put out there and distanced , he knows it I know it , Cortese will gently nudge him out into the wilderness and then pull the trigger .

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10000289.Saints_tight_lipped_over_Adkins__future/ nothing much in the article, but the official twitter count has stated that "It has been the Club’s conscious policy for the last three years not to reply to questions or calls for statements from the Daily Echo and this will continue to be Club policy."

I think the clubs position on this is fair enough, no point speculating on the position of the manager no good can come up of it imo

If Adkins goes, who do we get? Cortese has a fixed idea of how we should play the game which discounts a lot of managers. How many managers are available that will fit his criteria? How much will it cost to sack Adkins and hire a new manager? That money could be spent on players instead. It will all come down to the relationship between NC and NA. I'm expecting him to get more time with some new players in January (unless there is a major slanging match).
