Foreign owners by any chance ? I don't even have to check really Not sure what more he could have done in the job
I have a feeling they will live to regret this decision, has hallmarks of the the Ramos debacle at Spurs, and will probably end up with the same outcome.
This has been rumoured all week. Gained pace after the Sainst drew @ Chelsea and was the hot rumour thursday. Today its a FACT. Adkins has been sacked. Very strange thing to do especially when you see who the new manager is. Saints for the drop now,, maybe. ?? I think this will split the squad as many were close to Nigel Adkins. Paul Lambert looks to be very close as Vila line up Roberto Di Matteo according to media reports.
I can see Adkins going to one of Blackpool or Leeds. In fact, he'd be perfect for Leeds. If he went there he could have them in the Premier League by May 2014, which is at least a decade earlier than they'll manage under Colin.
I think in light of this they'd be stupid to sack Lambert as they've now a much better chance of staying up. I honestly think he'll come good and do well next season, he's just got a ****e squad after they spunked all last season's money on an individual who is not a team player, sulks and is clearly in it for the money.
PrePlanned by all accounts. But to sack Adkins for Pochettino is more than madness. Saints hopefully will go down. Nicola Cortese the owner is a madman of the highest order. This just proves the case. Saints fans are more than non too happy. Talk about sinking the good ship Southampton as it was sailing into calmer waters. Villa - Wigan - Newcastle and DQPR must all think its christmas again. I think and Hope that you will be correct John. I bet that most of British football will be shocked to laughing over this. Matt Le Tissier should be worth listening to on saturday. I would agree. Would be a far better choice imo. Immagine if he did and kept Villa up at the expense of Saints. Lmao.
The majority of my family down here support saints. They cannot believe that he has been sacked. It has been widely known for ages that he was under the fire from his chairman. I believe that as a manager NA could not get the players in that the chairman wanted, this is all part and parcel of a bigger deal. If the manger changes some players will move to the club and some who are already at the club will stay. This in my mind is all to do with internal politics and finances rather than the results.
I thought the bloke was a bit of a clown at Scunthorpe but he's done a great job at Southampton and if I'm honest I thought they were looking good to stay up this season. Hard to sack anyone when as a newly promoted club you've taken 5 points in 3 games against Arsenal, Villa and Chelsea.
