History says if you are in the bottom three at Yuletide you have a 2 in 3 chance of going down, particularly if you are bottom.
Agree with that Yella but I do love it when someone says we are 'already' down and now Southampton are too. No-one is down yet and I'm sure Newcastle fans and possibly yourselves would agree you're not safe yet. Normally you lot are far more balanced hence why I pop in for a dose of provincial realism. Southampton v Everton takes on a bigger perspective now though.
Tbh I can see QPR escaping again this year, only need a couple of wins to get out of the relegation zone, I worry for the Saints now though. I think it's shocking they've sacked Nigel when he has done so much for Southampton and bringing in someone else, it's a huge risk. I won't relax about being relegated until NCFC reach the 40pts mark, until then, any team can still go down.
derby were down in january when the got 11 points big game for QPR this weekend, WHU have been poor recently. they'll kick you a lot
Hi, Saints fan here. Just want to point out the new manager wasn't sacked at Espanyol - he parted company by mutual consent after they had financial problems and their best players were sold. Anyway, I am shocked and angry with Adkins departure. He has been the best manager we have had in a long time.
that old chesnut, the one which everyone knows means 'sacked' either way, he didn't stand much of a chance at espanyol once the family silver was auctioned off. don't know too much about him but i thought he did very well until this season. still doesn't make the dismissal of adkins any more savoury.
I can assure you that I am one of many Canary fans who are not taking for granted we will stay up until it is confirmed. Long way to go. If we get strikers in this window I will feel happier as that is where we have had our problems mostly this season, if we do not I will be worrying. Although the statistics say it is looking bad for others, there is still work for us to do and our form is poor (the last game was the worst game I have seen for a long time!). Two tough games again at Liverpool and Spuds at home where I cannot see us getting anything, then QPR becomes a six pointer. I am really not bothered which teams go down so long as it is not us. Would not take joy in it either (unless it is the Binners of course as they would to us) as it is carp when it happens.
To be honest, unless a miracle happens within football, Norwich will always be a favourite for relegation. Thing is, so are every other team in the bottom half.
Got to say Doc you're the most balanced poster on here. Are you sure you're a Norwich fan? Smashing Norwich and Bradley Johnson at home a massive motivation for us now.
I'd have thought staying up would be your motivation. If there is any smashing going on it will be the Guinness World record for "most badly run club". Currently held by Portsmouth (hmmmm I'm sure there's a link somewhere in this fairytale of misadventure), QPR will have a debt that soon rivals the EU.
